After stealing more than 7,000 BTCs, it's amazing how people even think about entering BTER website again. I guess that people's stupidity is never ending!

what??? you must be kidding, 7,000 BTCs? hmm its lot of BTC. i really don't heard anything about this. i only have small btc or altcoin, i don't remember how much i have in BTER. i only remember that i have XEM on there and i already send my XEM to poloniex and make a profit with XEM when the rate gets pump yesterday  Grin

Well, thanks to the great marketing strategy they've got working for them, they've been able to scam lots of people. It appears they will still continue to do so for some more time.

I recently tried transferring TIPS into BTER and they still have not showed up in my account. I opened a ticket with them, sent multiple emails, and I have not heard back from them yet. I logged in yesterday and decided to pull up the chat window to see what was going on. There were many people in there complaining of the same thing, then the chat service mysteriously stopped working. You be the judge.

All I know is that I know nothing.
if you are talking about the exchanger called bter.com then i am so sorry to say this but it is your own fault.

bter is a dead exchanger, after they claimed they were "hacked" it is all down the hill from then on. i don't know why you even trusted then in the first place when they had such a negative point in their history.

BTER are shady sketchy bullshitters and i have MANY stories of their scammy shenanigans !

Pretty sure i still have the emails i sent + TX records and email replies i got back from Tech support
from the last time i used them. (while having deposit problems)

I sent coins.. they vanished.
Wait days.. nothing !

Email them and ask so uhh what is wrong ?
Eventually they reply back "check your account"

This happened 3 or 4 times in a row in a period of a couple weeks roughly.
100% of my deposits disappeared.
And each each time as nice as possible i asked them "did i do something wrong ?" or..
Did i use the wrong address ? (knowing i had used the correct address)
Not once did they even so much as give 1 hint as to what the problem was.
Every single time they would simply say "check your account"
NOT GOOD ENOUGH BTER !

I got my shit out of there and never went back.
That was simply that LAST batch of bullshit scammy stunts they have pulled on me.
They did that before on me too with a different coin and with friends i know at the same exact time
then later on IRC i had found out others went through it too.
Except when it happened before NONE of us ever did get our coins.. combined total we all lost a LOT of BTC to them
they simply stole them outright blatantly then played dumb and ignored us all !

I have said for years now they are as scammy as Cryptsy !

I don't hold any Fedora, but I can't get my UNITY out.

I have 0.5 BTC worth on there, tried to make a withdrawal, but the UNITY just disappeared. I have been ignored by admin for five days now.

I am also hearing of problems with QORA and XMR.

Oddly, deposits seem fine.

And then, there's this:

http://www.satoshinews.org/2016/03/bitcoin-exchange-bter-withdrawal-issues.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I think it's safe to advise people to not make any deposits there.

I'm going to post this in several threads for visibility.

If you have lost millions of TIPS on Bter like I have, I'd like to hear from you.

In pursuit of evidence to deflect Bter's continual denial of lost coins I paid to have a Block Explorer created for TIPS which is available below so that others can see how many coins are sitting in their old wallets at Bter that they have taken control of. I hate to bring my complaint public but they continue to attempt to blow smoke as the evidence mounts against them.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/tips/

From taint analysis, this is the old wallet

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/tips/wallet.dws?EXbCGB9JKAwB7ZqZMeNJSqeenw2jNKGHA2.htm

and then new

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/tips/wallet.dws?EHqen5X3RXR3nq5vaR7NPsc9dWv11i2Nmd.htm

Also there is a bug in the RPC API for fedoracoind, which results in errors of a few satoshis lost/created. Basically there were too many TIPS around, so this overflows double precision, which is what the RPC API uses to pass numbers. So there are transactions in the explorer for which the sum of inputs does not exactly match the sum of outputs, for instance this one: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/tips/tx.dws?2569666.htm

Internally the wallet seems to use 256 bit integers, so it would not be affected, but anything relying on the RPC API would not be getting all the digits (this means explorer, exchanges or 3rd party wallets). The solution would be to pass the numbers as strings in the JSON, so the full precision is available.
