Pushing air into the room is more effective & efficient than trying to exhaust it. Give it a try both ways and take temperature readings, youll be surprised. Good luck!

I am considering placing my 4 x L3's in my garage to assist with cooling and air movement.  I live in the Northern hemisphere and my garage in between the sun and my house so usually in the shade.

I am wondering about humidity, dust and -30* temperatures, as humidity, dust levels and temperature changes outside, how much of an effect will this have on the units?

Also If I use an air intake approach, I am concerned about intaking snow and/or rain, anyone have experience with the above?

800 x 10 = 8000 watts x 3.41 = 27,280 BTU / 12000 = 2.3 Tons of air if you want to cool it.

It is roughly 800W per miner with stock settings.

Measured with a Kill-A-Watt electricity usage monitor.

Ten miners - roughly 8kW.

This equals about 27300 BTU/hr.

Reading this thread and searching on line as well, I also seem unable to locate the specifics of how much heat each unit produces

I have 4 L3's on the way right now and my intention is to look at a small farm in the approx 100qty range in the next 6 months, part of the research is to calculate heat output and cooling requirements

Does anyone know if heat output has been tested or of a resource where data of this type is posted?

What to do in places with 84F or over 32C? Fan alone can't possibly work. Ideas?

I hope your not seriously thinking to cool down 10 units in an enclosed room by A/C alone. If your doing it by A/C at all in the first place your doing it wrong. You'll end up with as much A/C power to cool then as they put out.

Ill help you out:

1. Cut a hole in your wall
2. stick an attic fan to it
3. sip on your espresso

Hi, im not a miner but here are some helpful calculations consider that a miner basically turns electricity into hashes and creats tons of heat doing it.

L3+ uses ~800 watts at the wall
http://www.rapidtables.com/convert/power/Watt_to_BTU.htm 800 watts = 2700 btu/hr per device. someone can step in and say whether this would be overkill for a miner. but your looking at a maximum of needing nearly 30k btu/hr in cooling for 10 L3+ miners.

Does anyone know that the BTU output is on the L3+ Miners?

I purchased Qty. 10, L3+ Bitminers that will be powered via antminer power supplies running at 240VAC.

These units are going to be in a 10 by 10 enclosed room.

Want to size a AC Unit that will keep them at room temp.

However not finding any information on how much heat they produce.
