What if Jihad already has an army of Antminer S11's and farming the shit out of bitcoin while he is selling away his trash tier S9's to us even for more bitcoins?

That fucking super villain haven't thought of this yet? If i were Jihan, i would definitely have done it.  Cool

I'm not a BU loyalist.  I'll support any implementation that allows big blocks and on chain scaling.

and no, segwit isn't meaningful onchain scaling in my view.

Decentralized on chain scaling is technologically impossible with PoW:

https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/631ffe/pools_that_block_litecoin_development/dfr3weo/

If you actually understood the technology, then perhaps you'd change your position to something which can actually scale off chain.

The economic majority wins. Those who are buying LTC now are doing so because they want SegWit to be activated. Jihan Wu of Bitmain who is blocking SegWit on both LTC and BTC, created the new more efficient Scrypt miners, so I didn't realize this before. They could monopolize these in theory. So this fight might not be as easy as I thought. But the economic majority should win, unless it lacks resolve and/or patience. Already people are arbitraging and finding ways to rent hashrate in order to earn money and support SegWit. If you think the price is going up, you try to lock in a rental price that doesn't increase as the price rises, so you can profit. Others may be buying A4s if they want to maximize profits and believe the price will remain high (and going higher).

Jihan Wu needs to get his ass kicked economically so both Bitcoin and Litecoin can move forward.

It is most likely that BU is a diversionary lie. These miners simply want to gouge high fees on Bitcoin and block any alternatives. They were never going to fork with BU. It was a lie to prevent everyone from joining together to kick Jihan's ass.

If my health will improve or stabilize, my plan is to launch a Bitcoin Killer which doesn't require PoW (the design is already completed). I want to bankrupt all these miners. Their vested interests are a pain in the ass. We need to kick all their arses out into the street and turn their ASICs into door stops. I am talking long-term plan.

Those who are buying ASICs now, my plans are a year or more away from reaching any relevancy or size, so fear not. Buy A4s and profit.

Both you guys are obstructionist wolves in sheepskin. You pretend you want to make progress but you are intentionally stalling. Any one with a brain stem can see right through your deceit.

ProHashing is not signaling SegWit thus they are an obstructionist. Their words are meaningless. In a meritocracy only actions count.

"Talk is cheap, show me the code", wrote Linus Torvalds

Also it is quite clear that BU never intended to fork Bitcoin with that Buggy Unlimited piece-of-shit, because they know damn well the economics of Bitcoin are that the whales can and will destroy any miners who attempt to fork Bitcoin. I explained this in great detail on BCT.

BU is a lie and diversionary tactic in order to fool everyone. The real goal of Jihan Wu is to gouge maximize transaction fees from Bitcoin and block any alternatives for scaling. These obstructionists are block progress on both Bitcoin and Litecoin, because Bitcoin depends on Litecoin to add off chain scaling, because the whales of Bitcoin will never allow SegWit on Bitcon. Period. ProHashing by their actions is complicit. Words are meaningless.

Look at your conflicting statements:

Quote from: ProHashing pool
He states that we oppose Segregated Witness, which is true. We do not think that SegWit is the best course for bitcoin or litecoin.

Quote from: ProHashing pool
We do intend to implement SegWit

Quote from: ProHashing pool
A majority of customers have requested SegWit, so we plan to implement it.

Stalling. Deceit. An obstructionist wolf in sheepskin.

Quote from: ProHashing pool
the IRS doesn't move its deadline back because of SegWit, and we won't have any business at all if they come after us

Miners should leave such an incompetent company.

Whining in a forum about not being able to do your accounting at the same time you do your technical work.

Of course it is quite clear you are just lying and deceitful.

The bitcoin model is broken when a single guy can block progress such as segwit + lightning networks (confidential transactions, schnorr sigs, sidechains... the endless list of good stuff).

I think people is going to be forced to resort to UASF to get rid of Jihan's insane blockage.

How do you figure when his pool is 15% of the hash power?

Jihad obviously controls way more than 15%.

Jihad has several different pools under his name/control.

All ASIC equipment is Bitmain controlled and im sure there are some secret deals if they signal to whatever meet's Jihad's agenda.

Get real, this is a monopoly by Bitmain.

Do you have any evidence to support your theory, or is this just conjecture?

On a sudden when he made the first outcome mining from the Bitcoin Unlimited gained more popularity and soon after the he seems to grab the controllability. Later on the bug crash got a downfall and of a sudden everything got faded off.

Jihan Wu is awesome!  You know how much bitcoins he sends me for posting?
It makes your sig campaigns look like a pack of peanuts

Hiding the truth as humour...  Roll Eyes  I dunno why people would even consider shilling for BU.  Huh but I would not put it pass them to do that...

desperate situations require desperate measures... right? You gotta give it to them, they shilled the shit out of this and they succeeded to stall

SegWit and LN for a while.  Cheesy

Definitely truth.  I get paid 1 bitcoin for each 10 posts.  this is too easy.
Your satire isn't going to discredit the reasonable arguments that people make against Jihan Wu.  He runs a huge mining monopoly in a supposedly decentralised network and your defense of him isn't going to rub off well on BU.

I'm not a BU loyalist.  I'll support any implementation that allows big blocks and on chain scaling.

and no, segwit isn't meaningful onchain scaling in my view. its just a bone core threw to us
while they stall, stagnate, and try to move everyone to the blockstream lightening hub

Re: BU Jihan wu : you don't matter at all

Jihan Wu is correct (only the whales decide), but either he is just part of a disinformation campaign or he doesn't realize that he doesn't matter at all either w.r.t. forking Bitcoin:

There are multiple implied messages in this April fool's prank.

1. That Bitcoin is a signaling mess, but Litecoin isn't.
2. That signaling on Bitcoin is a fool's errand, because Bitcoin will never fork because in finance the tail never wags the dog meaning that Satoshi cleverly designed the game theory such that Bitcoin can't fork.
3. That smart money should profit the most on this wisdom, so our ecosystem isn't in the control of fools. SegWit on Litecoin is now at 58% and climbing roughly 1% per hour. Activation at 75%.

Who ever mines BU will lose all the money they spent on mining it. So that 50% threshold means nothing. Any fork of Bitcoin will be attacked ruthlessly by those who have enough resources to destroy any miners foolish enough to try.

The large miners/pools know this. The April's fool joke is on anyone who believes that signaling means anything on Bitcoin. It doesn't.

hope the BU will die before it start
tired to hear about it everyday

I am sick and tired of scaling debate and I wish status quo and perfect stalemate would end already.
Apparently we are of need of some other solution (UASF doesn't count) because both SegWit and BU are not really moving anywhere.
So unless something will radically change this situation can last years, polluting the air and dividing the community even further.

Hashpower = voting rights

If you don't mine, you don't matter except as a weathervane for miners to observe in their goal to maximise the Bitcoin price.

It's not really complicated guys Wink

This. And what is more people like him have spent a fortune building their mining rigs, so I doubt he would be complaining about Core unless he thought they were choking bitcoin's future.

If Jihad Wu does not signal segwit soon, he will be buried too in UASF and PoW change form.

If we don't get back to home mining, bitcoin will be a toy in the hands of douchebags like Wutang and VogelRer.

It's a great idea, but if you can mine at home then that also means someone else can fill a warehouse with the same home mining gear.

While reading tweets on twitter from the link given by OP, I can say that Jihan wu was an arrogant and forgetful person since he forgot that he twitted about the unfairness of HF contract of bitfinex against big blockers when someone talked about HF in the tweets in the link. Based on the post, this is just my hunch though but I think he is like a puppet. Everything he post seems like there was someone who ordered him to post about this and that but I could be wrong since this is just my opinion based on what I see on the tweets. How can he forget some tweet that matter significantly? He couldn't unless he is just ordered by somebody to post it.

I have been keeping an eye on his Twitter for quite some time now, and there is a clear pattern of unprofessional and hostile behavior visible. I just wonder if he is just doing this to piss people off, or that he is serious when it comes to BU. In the aforementioned example, it could be done to just raise the pressure on core devs to agree on some sort of an compromise solution. Like seriously, BU is too amateurish to be taken seriously, but we have no other option since they account for a decent part of the network.

He's pretty obnoxious and his twitter is an obvious sign of that.  He has posts talking about how "interesting" and "fresh" a perspective is when it's blatantly just his confirmation bias finding articles telling him a new reason not to like Core.

It's annoying that he has any power.  Even if he supported SegWit he'd still be annoying.
