No plastic because of electostatic electricity
And for wood you should know the température of combustion of your wood and the temperature of your rig...

Ok thank I have some good fans!

Other question, is it dangerous to put rig in a plastic shelve?

Just make sure that it is not conductive.  You do not want to inadvertently short some pins on the back of the board that might not agree.

how to know if it's conductive or not?

The biggest risk with open rigs is shock hazard. Keep it away from gremlins and beasts.

Also fans, lots of strong fans to keep your cards cool.

I used some fire-resistant vinyl flooring I got at Lowe's for dirt cheap, like $2 for one square foot. Full-size motherboard fits fine on it.

I also got a cheap, 3 shelf adjustable wire shelf from there for $10. Easy and clean looking. Get's more airflow then a milkcrate.

Would putting the motherboard on a wood plank (melamine sorry not sure if it's the correct english word) would be ok, or the motherboard is getting to hot (risk of fire?)

TIA
