@XSerendipity that's simple bud because when you start to mine everything is going to be more profitable.

How does one mine 'better'? I've lived under the assumption that a miner works to the extent of your hardware's capabilities, and that was just a hard limit.

It's a fuzzy hard limit, for example, I could swing something from 240khash to 267 khash with a few tweaks. But one is stable and the other is a little unpredictable. The pool is mainly meant for the newbie who is getting their rig started for the first time and needs some basic help getting stuff operating in the first place. The goal is to have a stable, consistently profitable pool that is a good starting point for miners as they begin to learn more about the world of scrypt mining. Thanks for your comment, I'm glad this thread is still alive Smiley

This I don't see how a pool could be more newbie friendly as most pools now have very straight forward instructions to get setup. If u can't figure out how to setup yourself on a pool, you would need help on setting up a secure wallet, etc. Instead think about maybe creating a information resource for newbies.

Pardon the Quote-ception.

The hardest part is setting up the mining hardware, that's what the pool will focus on, getting you mining in the first place, explain pplns, pps, etc. It's just meant as a resource to help future miners.

It'll just be fun to run a small pool and help people out. If that's not useful, then so-what. I'll enjoy it anyhow.

PS: So close, getting the server ready, and waiting a bit for feedback.

I just started mining this week after a test try a few years ago.
So far i've tried mining

Dogecoin - is good, I mined around 2000 coins
Kittehcoin - is sorta fun, I mined around 50 coins
Earthcoin - this is fun as i've mined almost 5000 coins, but the pool I was in went down and I lost 1000...
Catcoin - a bit hard, mined around 5 coins, but .. see above...
Litecoin - stopped before I mined a full coin
Philosopherstone - I mined around 7 coins.. it's harder to mine but I like the name....
Worldcoin - seemed too hard to mine...

i've also tried Galaxycoin and Primecoin but never got past getting the wallets working because they wouldn't sync.

Mine all of them, and do what middlecoin do, see if you can emulate their success.

I'm no pro at coding, I'm just pretty good at mining and managing. I'm working on my coding skills. Smiley

Working on the final preparations to get this pool running. I wont post the site address until it's done.

Let me know what you're looking for, we'll also get some work on some IRC or IRC-related chat to actively help you learn how to mine better.

It's a long learning process, but we'll help you get started, and then get on you way to a more profitable pool.

I cannot do DOGE mining since our sponsor is a doge mining pool and DOGE difficulty is too high
I will be pointing a few of my miners to the pool so even if the newbies dont have a high hashrate, the pool will still find blocks.

(We still have openings for Sponsor Pools)

Thank you!
