For curiosity: how much can you mine with these specifications?

No matter what you decide as a configuration be sure that after you decide and you are 100% sure this is what you want go on and order it! everything that is good these days seems to disappear quite fast. I was obliged to change my configuration 3 times cause i was making modifications during 2.5 weeks. Good luck!

i could make some adjustment on your rig, by chosing a better psu like the rm 1000 or the evga 1300 if you need more power in the future, when you want to upgrade to six gpu, other components seems ok to me, for risers just choose unpowered with that motherboard they do the trick
Thanks for your input! You're right, I should probably get a bit better PSU, after all its cheaper to buy a better PSU than a whole new rig when I want to add two more cards.

Why do you recommend unpowered risers for this motherboard?

Thanks!

Hello!

I've been mining on my PC and my daughter's PC but am now going to build a dedicated rig for it. However, there are some things I'm not entirely sure about (like risers and case) and would also like some opinions on the parts I've been looking at. I should mention that I would prefer to dual mine if possible. Also note that I live in Sweden if anything would need to be ordered from some place else (case for example).

So this is the list that I've compiled so far:

  • GPU: 4x MSI RX 570 Gaming 4G
  • Motherboard: ASRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0
  • CPU: Intel Pentium G3260 3,3 GHz (is this enough? Is there a CPU that's better or cheaper?)
  • RAM: Just some cheap 4GB stick (or two 2GB sticks)
  • HDD: Just some cheap 500GB HDD
  • PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 850W or EVGA 1000 GQ 1000W (would 850W be enough for the four GPUs when dual mining?)

  • Risers: No idea and need help on this one. There are so many out there and I don't know which to pick.
  • Case: I have no idea where to get a proper mining case. If possible, a sturdy but relatively cheap one.
  • Dummy plug: Same with this one, I'm not sure what to pick.

I read in a thread that the Sapphire RX 570 Pulse Mini was doing fine when it comes to mining, perhaps that would be enough? It's quite a lot cheaper than the Gaming 4G?

Is there anything that I've forgotten or missed?

Looks great. Where do you live? EU / States?

Your selection looks pretty nice. One thing I would do is mare sure you have a more heavy load psu for your initial tuning. For example, my 6 x 580 rig pulls 1550 watt when dual mining and without any tuning. After tuning my rig now pulls 1050 watt. So you could say a 1200 watt psu would be enough but it would have been very annoying during the tuning if I didnt had it hooked up to a 1600 watt psu initially.

1. I use this one as dummy plug, servers me great http://www.ebay.nl/itm/232295788667?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
2. Find the cheapest celeron with an 1150 socket you can find. Anything will do.
3. Just go for an SSD. They are cheap and saves you time during the reboots and stuff. As long as your OS fits on it it is all good.
4. I use this as case, works nice; https://www.ethereumminer.eu/product/Cases-*-Frames/ETHEH-BEHUIZ-SIMPLEXX/The-SimpleXX-Stacker-open-frame-case.html. See https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.18946011 where you can see them set up.
5. For your risers; pick one with a 6 pin on it and a SATA adapter. Like this one: http://www.ebay.nl/itm/USB-3-0-PCI-E-Express-1x-to16x-Extender-Riser-Board-Card-Adapter-SATA-Cable-/132158416064?hash=item1ec54164c0:g:A0wAAOSwAANY787T (Don't buy from this link, I am sure you can find them cheaper, this is just for the example.

I hope this helps you!
