Actually no, but it is better to have the riser in first psu cause when you power up. Everything go up at the same time. Its just better...

I would like to understand how it works, learn from other's experience.
I got a H81 pro btc. I was told that if i use Ribbons riser, they all need to be on PSU 1, and then i can mix GPUs on PSU 1 and PSU 2. However if i have USB powered riser, i can do mobo + 3x gpu + risers on PSU 1 and 3x gpu + usb riser on PSU.
Is that accurate? Can i mix USB and non usb risers as long as ribbons riser are on same PSU as mobo? Etc?
