Should I just bump the thread or start a new thread? I had a general question on the current market performance.
If, you believe in opening a new thread, it doesn't matter, the important thing is that the new thread is more interesting and there is new information to discuss, so that the new thread does not sink like the old thread.

However, as said by: @COOLCRYPTOVATOR if to reply to a comment, there is no new information, it's enough to reply to an existing topic, just do it there, no need to create a new topic.

Conclusion: there are two things you should consider.
1. New topic with new information related to Decentraland.
2. If to reply to comments in an old topic, don't have new information just do it there, no need for a new topic.

If the questions are extremely related to the announcement thread then nothing wrong to post there, no matter thread is too old. It depends on the situation and should take the real-time decision based on the circumstances. If the question is directly not connected with the thread where you are going to ask the questions, then nothing wrong with creating a new thread. Just search on the forum your desired answer exists already. Otherwise creating a new thread is fine. The forum does not prevent anyone to acquire knowledge, the forum only prevents spam.

Given that the thread is already dormant for at least 4 months, I suppose Decentraland is not anymore maintaining it. So I think you can create another thread in the Altcoin Discussion. But if you are specifically addressing your question to somebody who is with Decentraland itself, it's better if you just go through their official contact channels. On the other hand, if your question about Decentraland's current market performance is about MANA's performance in the market, then I guess you could open a thread about it under Speculation (Altcoins).

By the way, you were fine if you will follow the forum rules and it seems you are now violating forum rules number 32.

Funny you say that, I was actually contemplating whether to combine both replies in one post but opted for the 2 posts. Old habits from other places and there are a lot of rules to remember. I will definitely keep this in mind for the future.

I have to say I’m not used to this level of quality control in a forum but here to learn.

If that is something new and didn't answer on their ANN thread yet you can make your thread as you wish if that is something different.  But most likely those who will answer will prefer you on their ANN thread, not unless those who already encountered on this project.

If their community social media accounts were still alive, that's a good option of asking some sensitive questions or even high-level questions.

In case that is your thread, where do you offer some of your services, then bump is okay even if it is inactive for longer than 120 days. it is quite normal that you had a break.
ANN thread of any service can be bumped even after a while. Some users are already following it, so there is already a possibility that you will get a relevant answer when they are notified from there.

Probably all other discussions are better to start from the beginning. many older members will not even look at the thread with 15+ pages, because everything has already been said there and the same thing is just repeated just to fill a signature quota.
If the post is about a service running in the forum or have a channel here in bitcointalk, i think it's better to post in the main ANN topic even it's old inactive and we should create a new topic. There is a "Service Dicussion" board which can b used to post about any service if it hasn't an official channel .

In your case it's OK, so long as you are genuinely inquiring about something and not trying to spam. The only problem is getting a response from members who used to follow decentraland may take a while. I suggest if possible, just contact the decentraland support and community through social media to get swift help

Depends on the type of question.

My question is more a high level one. The risk for high level questions with any dedicated communities is the tunnel vision.

I think I am more likely to get more objective opinions here. If you have any other ideas were all crypto is discussed objectively please feel free to share.

I find this approach quiet different to what I’m used to from other Forums. Minimalistic by keeping the threads to the point without too much repetition. Maximalism by starting more new threads but hey i am not here to reinvent the wheel and will go with these norms.

I was thinking of posting a question on the Decentraland announcement.

In the reply window it says the following

Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic
