A website with updated information was a really good idea. But I think its not easy to achieve or implemented. From what I know, there are no business establishment accepts bitcoin as mode of payment. It was still risky because its fluctuation can possibly lead to losses. But maybe in the future, it can happen because the people who are using digital currencies to purchase something increases every day so if it continues, a business that can use bitcoin will start and continue

Actually, nasa discretion ng business if they were to accept any cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment.

As far as I know, there is one milk tea shop near Las Piñas that accepts this certain type of altcoin (I forgot which altcoin) as payment for their milk tea. In addition, tumatanggap din si dragonpay ng BTC then convertible to PHP na siya agad. The more businesses na mag accept as payment ng BTC, mas lalong mahihikayat din ang other businesses na tumupad nito.

Pero like what I have mentioned, since volatile ang price ng BTC, nasa discretion talaga ng business to kung gusto nila gawin itong alternative mode of payment.

I, myself has a plan also in opening a business which includes crypto payments but then wala pa kong idea kung magkano ang gagastusin sa kabuuan and gusto ko kasi sarili ko lahat, property, store, equipment and materials para mas matibay yung pundasyon ng business.

I have heard about Abra app and the opportunity it brings to Cryptocurrency enthusiasts around the world. Do you know if that is a Filipino owned company? I would consider that a business that uses crypto as mode of payment.

So parang sa sinasabi mo we buy crypto using the Cliqq payment system sa 7/11 na convenience store. If that is the case you can please let me know what were your experiences so far. Sa ngayon coins.ph saka traditional na payment systems like Paymaya and Gcash ang nasusubukan ko sa ating mga local payment systems. Ganda if we can have another crypto based na payment system.

But I do not know and unfortunately I don't have the luxury of time to do research sa dami ng ginagawa ko, I just want to know from the community if may mga sumubok na bang gumamit ng app na ito and what are your impressions? Siguro may platform siya so we can do online payments using crypto. I want to know kasi kailangan ko ng paraan para makabili ng TRON locally ng hindi na kailangan ng exchanges galing sa ibang bansa.

I would like to help this country by investing much more money in my BPO but at present state the people are still way behind in terms of education and technological prowness. Duterte has been great for this country's security and decrease of corruption however the Filipinos need also to do an extra step and keep on par with the dynamic nature of the hypertechnological world we live in.

Well you can always start in your BPO company in terms of introducing crypto as some kind of alternative learning experience or organizational activity for your employees, a lot of BPO companies offer that in order for their employees to grow sorta like how some in the industry offer online courses as well as six sigma not only for them to stay competitive but also make their employees benefit to be more qualified in a higher position. Because let's face it the current state the country is now we can't expect to have some kind of rapid expansion when it comes to crypto use, in fact I have created a topic about how Filipinos are more inclined in using cash even if they know other alternative on paying them. This just show that even Filipinos are still not prepared to even embraced digital payments in their day to day life.

Bitcoin was never safe, may pandemic man or wala sa tingin ko hirap tumanggap ng bitcoin as payment kase alam naman nating walang kasiguraduhan ang presyo nito. Hindi yung puro scam like Forsage  Embarrassed

What are the main businesses in Manila currently accepting crypto as direct payment?
Anything really - coffee shops, groceries, cars, gold, houses, hotel bookings and so forth.

Would be good if there was one single web page in English keeping an up to date list of those.
- free advertisement for those shops who would be keen to get listed on the page once running
- good resource for international crypto travellers
- promoting crypto adoption (for what it's worth) in the country
- website operator would profit from say shilling reflinks or top ad solutions for shops willing to pay some extra for added visibility

Unless there's already something like that?
Maybe you can explore more dito boss para sa ganun marami tayong malaman about bitcoin ang where we can use it.

It's kinda hard to find a merchant or shops that actually accept crypto payment here in Manila...

It's kinda hard to find a merchant or shops that actually accept crypto payment here in Manila. I tried searching but I only saw old articles so I am not sure if those stores still accept bitcoin payment or if they already stopped. Even though I'm living in Metro Manila, I have not encountered nor found a shop that accepts bitcoin payment. It's kinda understandable since most Filipino people still depend on fiat and does not have any idea about crypto and bitcoin. And I also think that one of the reasons why we rarely see shops that are open to crypto payment is because most customers might just ignore this option since fiat is more convenient for most.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a topic here in the local board before about Paolo Bediones saying he made his first bitcoin transaction in his resto-bar. However, I don't know if they are still open for crypto payments since the tweet he made last 2017 was deleted already.

Anything really - coffee shops, groceries, cars, gold, houses, hotel bookings and so forth.

For that, if you have coins.ph account, refer to their supported merchants. Not a direct payment though but at least your BTC balance can be used.

The majority of businesses in Manila are far from accepting crypto payment. The most used here is fiat cashless system e.g GCASH, Paymaya, Debit Card, Credit Card which is much quicker and less hassle. So if you want to use your bitcoin, the best thing to do is to cash out from these payment services then used it directly to the merchants. No need to purchase a card as scanning the QC code to make payments is enough.

At one point in time, bars in Ortigas and in Makati were accepting bitcoin and ETH for drinks and the entrance fee in partnership with coins.ph for a promotion I believe. Most businesses that accept cryptocurrencies are situated far from the capital, ironically, gaya nga dun sa isang thread na nag-outline na marami sa Pampanga, Cavite at sa ilan pang probinsya ang talagang nag-aaccept up to this day unlike ngayon.

Siguro when a massive surge comes once more, magkakaroon ulit ng iilang shops and businesses dito sa NCR na mag-accept to ride the hype, pero hopefully they stay as is for good na to promote bitcoin as a payment method and its utility sa pagbili-bili and not just some other investment scheme.

Its either gumastos sila then biglang bumagsak o tumaas ang price.
My ganung mindset na kasi tayo.

If there is a system in the Metro that has this acceptance sa cryptocurrency para gamitin ng mga tao like in Fiat currency, mas marami tayo maachieve.

Well, I've been traversing the main roads of Manila, specifically from Pasig to Makati, then Taguig (BGC) to Pasig (and its nearby cities) and sad to say, I can't remember any instance where I see any establishment that openly accept BTC as of mode of payments for their services. There may be some small business available here and there but they are not searchable in the net and you (nor I) won't be able to know that they existed if you're not locally involved with them.

It's a good idea if someone will create such websites with updated business that directly accept crypto coins as a payments. This will help us to easily find where shall we spend our bitcoins to the near place where we are located.
I only saw one website but this wasn't updated and was posted 6 years ago. Maybe if ever someone will create a website like what you have suggested, it is easier for us to find those and would be a great help for the desired adoption.

I’ve tried looking for those businesses who accepts bitcoin before in Metro Manila but unfortunately, I didn’t find anything. Though I found a vlog from coinsph regarding businesses who accepts bitcoin so I called them to ask if they still accept bitcoin but unfortunately all of them is not active anymore. Businesses in Philippines still refused to accept bitcoin maybe because of so many reason especially the volatility of bitcoin. Its good to have a site about this one but I didn’t know anything aside from the news on Bitpinas.

For other members who have already posted their answers in Filipino I think it's important to say that the OP does not understand our language as I recalled on the past topic he have created here in our local board, so maybe adjusting/editing your post in English would help this guy better understand the crypto acceptance here in the Philippines. @OP to answer your question what businesses accept cryptocurrencies here in the Philippines your choice will only be limited to small businesses who have owners that have an interest in crypto but after that there are no big companies like groceries, malls, real estate, car manufacturers accepting crypto as a direct payment, to give you an idea the link mentioned by acroman08 in his post is what type of businesses accept crypto here in the country it's mostly in Filipino though but you can easily translate it with your browser.

Unless there's already something like that?

I think hindi ganoon mapopromote yung use ng crypto bilang mode of payment sa mga local stores and merchants. Why? We already have GCash and Paymaya, in which mas convenient kasi local fiat ang gamit and hindi magfafluctuate yung price compared to crypto. Yes, users can invest easily in crypto, but then mode of payment? I think malulugi lang sila kung ganoon. And also, hindi pa ganoon katanggap yung crypto kaya medyo matagal pang process pag dadaanan nito para maapprove ng DTI and even BSP na gamitin to bilang modern mode of payment.

My search always leads me to this old article - Got some bitcoins to spend? Here are 7 merchants accepting bitcoins in the Philippines
Most stores/establishments listed there are no longer in operation while the others no longer accepts bitcoin.

It would be nice if someone could actually set it up and maintain it but it's going to take time.

Another old article (my new find) but I haven't verified yet if they still accept btc - Stores in the Philippines That Accepts Bitcoin
