Considering how young Buterin is, it makes perfect sense to donate for a research which wants to stop aging. If they succeed, he will benefit too. Just like Ray Kurzweil is endorsing research on how to achieve immortality so that he can avoid to die.

Where did you find the information that Mr. Buterin funded the project? Attending doesnt always mean to invest, maybe he's just interested with the project. Would you mind sharing sources about this matter?
