I ordered a BUtterfly Labs 50 GH/s Miner to replace a dead cube and it arrived in 3 business days, so they are in stock and shipping.

I was actually in KC recently and had stopped by BFL on Wednesday.  They had ~200 singles sitting on a shelf ready to ship.  I had heard rumors then about TigerDirect, and after seeing the Custom Hardware people going nuts, I went to the TD website and did see a BFL logo and "Coming soon".

I saw that on MMC.
I am trying to replicate that myself.
Not much success yet though.

So far we've got .. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

1) Don't do it
2) Buy alt-coins instead
3) BFL sucks
4) Doorstops

But truth be told people are mining right now ..
1 GH/s has the same daily rate of return as 500 GH/s ..

The 'arms' race is in full force judging by the thread where the OP
is offering Cointerra 2 TH/s miners for 3X what he paid for them ..
( of course, they're not "in hand" just yet )  Wink Grin

Some dev over on the MMC ( memory coin ) thread just figured out
how to boost CPU mining by +300% ( faster than the best GPU rigs
according to the other posters ) ..

If I wait until May .. we can have this same discussion with
regards to the newly obsolete +1 TH/s miners !!

I just thought it would be fun/marginally profitable to
do a little mining with hardware ( I can actually get my hands on )
for "grins and giggles" going forward and it gives me something to
do while waiting for my next SS check to roll in  ..

Triff ..  An old dog trying to learn a new trick !!!!! Cool

Your definition of "Immediate delivery" and BFL's definition of "Immediate delivery" or "In Stock" etc. are likely very very different definitions.

A peek around the forums will show that in-stock ready for immediate delivery BFL's can still take Two WeeksTM

The Ebay ones would likely ship quicker.

Very true. My "in stock" unit took nearly 4 weeks to get here, ordered at the end of December.

at 7w/GH its a terrible idea and waste of money. for the power sonsumption of the 50Gh miner you could run a 200GH antminer - and the prices are not that different

Butterfly Labs 50 GH/s miner

Noticed that BFL has a few ( new ) of these units for immediate delivery
and there are currently several Ebay auctions for used units all at about the same price point ..

So, for sha-256 coins is this miner currently an expensive space heater or
OK for someone just wanting to try mining some alt-coins ( to hold long term ) ..

I know the multi TH's ASIC are on the horizon and BTC difficulty is about to
bump another 20% so I'm not considering using this for mining BTC ..

So are these doorstops, space heaters or useful miners at this point in time HuhHuh??
