I'm wondering about if Butterfly still worth to buy specially after Bitmain release the S5+ and S7 Antminers with low power, seriously i'm thinking of buying some boards of Butterfly which can mine with hashrate of 600-800 GH/S but i have no idea about how much will it costs me to buy 10 TH/S and can i use it all with just one Laptop ?

Feel free to tell me what do you think ? Grin

Wow dude! You need to do a LOT more research if you think there is any possibility that BFL is even a remotely good choice.

But the short answer... they are a horrible choice now or ever.
Yeah these things are terribly inefficient if you REALLY want to mine then you can buy a newer miner, I suggest an Antminer s5 as there is a large supply being dumped by miners.

I am in the USA shipping would be very high.

Which country are you in? I may not be able to ship it to you.

For me to ship to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates)  it is 64 an s-3.

So lets say I charge you 100  for one add on 64 to ship.

  164 x 4 = 656  and I clear 400. That is too much for you to pay.

is I charge you 75 each + 64 each to ship = 139 x 4 = 556

That is too high a price.

You should pay about 400 to 450 if you can get that price.

My problem is If I charge you 450 with shipping included   I clear 200.

If I keep the machines and mine I would earn 200 in about 83 days. So If I ever sell my 4 S-3's it will be local.

You're right, that's why i'm looking for hashing boards which will save much for me when it come to shipping but i don't have a clue on the 400-500 GH/S board's price.

BFL Monarchs are not just hash boards. I don't know where you're getting that idea. Monarchs come attached to a water cooling kit.

The only thing that a Monarch is missing that a Bitmain or Spondoolies miner has is a small controller board. And that's a HUGE pain in the ass because Monarchs need to be attached to a PC via USB to be able to run.

I would estimate that you would save nothing in shipping because Monarchs probably weigh about the same as an S5 for less hashrate.

let me ask you about how much would you sell it for ?

i've a kind of FREE power ( Not stealing it ) so i'm thinking of buying some hashboards for a cheap price and group it together in order to have a Good hashrate which ROI in short time..

so no one think that it's a Good idea while i have FREE power, i'm confused what to choose ..
if i'd like to have about 10 TH/S using BFL boards how many boards do i need and how much do you think that i have to spend on this ??

share your thoughts about it.

get s-3's instead.   s-3's are more durable.  I have 4 that have been mining since july 2014

I have then in a 2.4 cent spot so they still earn a profit for me.  about 80 usd a month. after I pay for the power.

16 boards would give me hashrate of 6.5TH/S - 8.5TH/S that would be great ..
would you give me an idea about how many PSU's should i use and how much is the hashing board ?

as far as i know i have to control it using Computer Online 24/7 so i can do it using Server PC if it's worth ..

do you recommend mining BTC using those boards while i have FREE power ?

If you have free electric, or just want a semi-expensive toy to play with, they might be worth it.

Otherwise, they're so outdated and inefficient you'd have to get one for FREE to ever ROI it - and even then the cost of the power supply would sink the chance of ROI.

Actually i have a free power source here in Egypt so i don't have to steal it or even move to any cheap state in order to save the money of electricity.

my question about the difference of between using mining cards and hashing boards against ASIC miners devices such as Antminer and KNC . etc ..

well, point is that generally mining not worth the effort, risk and high dollars investments. simply because of electricity price, low bitcoin value, price of miners and raising diff.

there are imho only three ways how to mine with profit:

*you are in China next to power grid with direct contact to asic manufacturer.

*you are in US in some states with bloody cheap electricity (or you are stealing electricity) and you did some amazing aftermarket deal

*you are ASIC manufacturer

if anybody have idea about any other way how to ROI (and you see, I'm not even talking about profit), feel free to share..after some years of experience, I really don't see any other option:(
