When the price drops on a particular day by 20% or more, that's the best day to buy bitcoins as per the bitcoin charts. You can sell it when you earn a good amount of profit and for me it's 30-35% more than the rate is the best price to sell your BTC.

Yes the important thing is you need to sell only when you are making profits from it, and even if you have to wait longer you should wait and not sell by getting panic.

I have bought at $450 and i will sell it a week or few days before the halvening. Because i think price will be too volatile during halvening.
Probably a good estimate, the price will -likely- go up, but it will be fairly insane to track the markets during the halving. People are going to be moving their money left and right, and this could allow for some opportunities where you can sell for a lot of money and then back away until everything settles down and everything gets back to normal and everyone settles in with the new value of Bitcoin, be it up or down in value.
Buying will be not even that problem now and that is because the value is also not that high so that is nice if you want to make an investment now.
But you have to sell it on the right moment after the price rise so you can earn huge profit with it and that is nice if that is possible.

a good option to sell before halving, more precisely when approached halving. because possibility when it the price will increase because more people are buying bitcoin, but if after halving, I was worried there would be a big dump, because many people are waiting for the price increase.

Yes I think selling before or at the time of halving would be more profitable, as it might fall back once the halving is done, so do not hold too long, sell when you sell high price.

you should buy before the jump happens if you don't want to lose the chance to make a profit. so anytime these days is good chance to but bitcoin. but as for the sell part nobody can tell you when to sell because nobody knows where the rise is going to stop.

OP you are asking the most basic, fundamental question in trading--not just bitcoin, but in all markets.  You want to buy low and sell high but those two points are so elusive.  And no one here truly has the answer and if they do they're not going to tell you.

now may be said to be a good time to buy Bitcoin, the price is still low. than later when it was halving, prices could be above 500

Yeah this is good time to buy and hold for the halving, we might see $500 price by the end of this month and if it achieves it then we will see better price at the time of halving.

yes I wish we could touch $500 at the end of the month of May. because at least, if it is reached. This will be more better after halving.

As Lauda suggested, there is no best time to buy or sell bitcoins. You can just check the bitcoin chart and make your decision and if you are trading, anytime is good. Earlier, it was within the 200-350 range while now it's in the 380 - 465 range and hence it can only go up from now onwards. I would suggest you to invest about 1 BTC to start with.

Or else you can also say that every time is the best time to buy, and when it comes to selling you always know when to sell it, buying at current price seems to be affordable.

There really is no way of saying the "generally the best time to buy bitcoins."
The price cannot be 100% predicted but it is highly speculated that the value will go up in the coming days so you might want to buy as soon as possible. You have to be very cautious of the high and low of the price.
It changes every few minutes and there are times of the day when the price hits very low. (~$10 less than daily ave.)

When is generally the best time to buy bitcoin? Personally, I think the best time would be around now as the Bitcoin halving is coming up and experts are predicting the prices to flare up.  Smiley

On the other hand, when is the best time to sell BTC? How long should I hold before I sell.

Thanks for your comments.

Buying bitcoin at this time is not bad because the halving can increase a little bit the price so investing now is preferred(at least by me), how much should you hold is another thing, as much as you can until you see that it is the time to sell for a higher price.

I also think it's best to purchase now because halving is right in the corner. Best time to sell would be around 3 to 4 months after the halving because it takes time to fully adjust so that the effect takes its place. I also think there will be a down time in terms of flare up of prices after the halving but it will get recovered soon.

personally I would say a good time to buy when the price is under $500.

a good time to sell when it touched above $500 after halving, I do not know the exact time and how long to hold, just follow the time.
Buying now will be even not that bad now and that is because there are now more people that is going to wait for a higher value and that would be nice for the people.
But you also never know what will happen with the currency and that is the problem.

Best time to buy: Today. Right now.

Buy at the dips.

In a couple of days it will reach again $460.

This only works if he's a knowledgeable day trader. I think OP's talking more long-term. Maybe around 5 years would be enough?

If you're a long term holder then it doesn't really matter if you buy at $450 or $460 as your profits after a few years will bring you much better returns. I focus on making at least $300-$400 profit per coin and not $20-$30 per coin. Patience is the key to profit.

if you want to get into trading bitcoin that is a whole different question because you need to know a lot of things to answer these two questions and do it every day and stay alert all the time to earn profit.

but if you want to just buy-hold-sell when it is higher, then I have to say it is good time to buy bitcoin now as long as there is no sudden rise.
and sell time is never because as bitcoin becomes more popular you can stop needing fiat and use bitcoin instead.

My buying price ranges from $440 - $480. If that window closes too soon, say within this month, I might for an even higher price until $510. I'm not going to go all in, but I will only buy what my budget permits. When do I sell is another waiting game I'm willing to play. The after effects of halving will play a big role on what my decisions will be.

I always keep saying, that the best time to buy bitcoin is "now".

From an investor's perspective, it is always better to buy and store bitcoin for the future use. So that you can sell the bitcoin if needed anytime in future for any emergency.

I am not a trader and hence I am currently accumulating bitcoin.

The best time to buy bitcoin is after the bitcoin halving but for me the best time is the time wherein the price of bitcoin is down. And the best selling it is it depends on you. It is depend on you because if you need money as soon as possible sell it at bitcoin halving but if you need more profit try to sell it in next year i think the price of bitcoin will rise in next year.

Buying now is good as price is not too high at a moment and when it comes to selling you can sell anytime when you see higher price then you actually purchased.
yeah buying and selling is the best way to make profit at a moment because its always worth fluctuation so when its price is going to low buy it and when going to rise it sell all coin and get reward, I think its 459$ is not high rate at this time.

Just by stating that your plan is to buy and to sell for more USD tells me that you're being fueled by greed. You should be using your Bitcoin when you want to purchase goods or services, not convert back to FIAT.

On the other hand, when is the best time to sell BTC?
Never.

Now if you want to buy because the price is not high.
then sell was at a high price, use your instinct you must know when the right time to sell.
Useless post.

Buying when the price is low and affordable and selling when the price is high and you can make a nice profit.
You don't say?  Roll Eyes

I think you already got a lot of replies and suggestion on when is the best time to buy Bitcoin. I would just like to say that I agree that buying Bitcoin before the halving is a good investment. However, there is still some small risks associated with it.

Now. About the best time to sell Bitcoin. My answer would be for you to hold onto your Bitcoin forever. Sometime in the future (maybe not in my generation), cryptocurrencies is going to replace fiat. Hold onto it. Never sell it. Instead say you "use" it. Smiley.

There are many theories on what the bitcoin price may do once halving occurs but I really don't see it dropping at all.

Buy now and hold for at least 1 year, after that time you will know what to do
It would also be a good idea to buy a few extra coins to spend and help move the btc economy along. You will probably come across some great bargains too.
