Are you the same guys behind app(.)buyanycoin(.)com? Is the platform operational? I don't have a US bank account so can't find it out on my own.

I guess I'm kinda surprised that there isn't something like this already.  I coulda swore I've heard of services that convert gift-cards to bitcoin.  Maybe it was even called "gyft" or something like that.

The point of BuyAnyCoin's gift card or 'voucher' model is to promote easy, instantaneous access to cryptocurrency.  It's specifically a way to buy into crypto, not to convert out of it (Gyft).  Think LocalBTC without the phone calls or strangers - a would-be customer just heads to the gas station and grabs a card like they would a soft drink.  Once they redeem the card in their online account (via scratch-off code) they can convert into BTC, LTC, DOGE, NXT, hold it, withdraw it, etc.  The idea is to make acquisition simple and the entire concept familiar to the masses, bypassing all the unorthodoxy currently hampering widespread adoption.

Purse.io offers that service directly, however the sites have a lower market price for the gift cards as it is based on an open marketplace.

Hey Everyone,

I recently learned of a cool new product being worked on called BuyAnyCoin. They are working to make cryptocurrencies very easy to buy by creating and selling gift cards which can be redeemed for many different coins on their website.

Gift cards are everywhere and very easy to buy and use. It would require very little effort on the users end to simply go to a grocery store or a radio shack etc and buy a gift card which can then later be redeemed for one of several cryptocurrencies.

They are looking for $10,000 to help get the project off the ground and have started up an indegogo campaign:

While I am not a part of this project I have actually met these guys, as they are based in my home town, and have been pretty impressed with their work.
