Well, it was already said, but I just want to add some about it, If you want to sell bitcoin to MYR, have you figured out if your country already supported conversion from bitcoin to MYR? If yes, then you don't need the escrows. another, have you already tried to use paypal? Because common'y paypal supports majority of currencies all over the world.

Two things for the newbie: buy from an exchange (trust a company) or buy from another person (trust an actual person).

I recommend the latter. It's generally called peer-to-peer trading and the platform to do that is Localbitcoins.com.

I'm a trader there, and you can always lookup traders and see their reputations and feedback score. You don't need verification for a very small buy, which you should do to test.

Sign up, and look for:
1. Online buy offers in Malaysia using online bank transfer.
2. Make sure trader is online (green dot, hover mouse and it says how long since last seen).
3. Find a Pro Trader (it will have this mark), or someone will plenty of recent trades and good feedback.
4. If possible a phone number. Most Malaysian traders provide a whatsapp. Contact them first and inform them, and agree you will perform the trade.
5. Pay with online bank, it is instant in Malaysia, screenshot your payment, attach to the trade in message.
6. Wait for the seller to release escrow. Bitcoin is in your account. Withdraw it to your wallet.

Good luck with your first trade, I love p2p like localbitcoins personally, because it's the first real way you communicate with another bitcoin user and it's a great feeling.

BitcoinTalk is not a trading platform so you are not buying/selling from this forum. It is a place to discuss about BTC and some Altcoins.

Besides, this forum is the best place to meet new people related to cryptos, so it offers you a trust system to reduce scam from others.
You should not trust anyone in this forum or give your personal information.
There are some people trusted by the forum, but that does not mean that you trust them or send money to them.

There is remitano for your country: https://remitano.com/btc/my

USE ESCROW!
It is always required for a newbie to use an escrow when dealing with someone here, so that both parties will have a secured transaction. Choose from any of the reputable people on the table through this link: Recommended bitcointalk escrow services
This.
These are the most important here if you are selling bitcoin here in the forum. Both parties MUST use ESCROW service for better securities both of them. Don't trust on high ranks members with positive trust or always check their status and previous activities on trading. Or go to you local section for having good communication.

Maybe OP did not want to involve his personal identity in selling his bitcoin, just like what local exchange needs they are implementing KYC.

But if you are willing to pass KYC verification and the safest way as of now you can follow this instructions:

Buying BTC from the forum will take a long process with some little fee because an escrow agent will be involve since you're a newbie account holder but the best option you have to buy BTC through an exchange site which offer service to Malaysia which luno is one of the best exchange that accept MYR as I heard.

Right, this is the best option for the OP. I mean he/she is a newbie so I doubt that someone will bite on his offer and it will be complicated for him/her.

You can also read this, Buy Bitcoin in Malaysia. Just a tip to read the ToS (Terms of Service) first so that you can understand how everything works.

Have you try your local exchange?

[1] (https://www.coinhako.com/)

Or try LBC

[2] https://localbitcoins.com/country/MY

[3] Or try the community Currency exchange board: (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0). Just as others are saying though, Escrow is a must here, here is a good list to choose from: (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/few-trusted-escrow-providers-5047302).

If you are looking to convert bitcoin to your local currency, there are several options available.
1. Sign up on a exchange that accepts local currency. Get yourself verified there and then start trading as you wish. Be aware of trading risks and fees.
2. Use localbitcoins to set up a P2P deal with another person living in your country.
3. Use the forum's Currency Exchange section to set up a deal. This is the least secure one among these three options. Use a trusted escrow to deal and never send first. Remember that bitcoins once sent are gone forever and this section of the forum is full of scammers.

Why here in this forum?

Why not try on your local exchange, if there are any or localbitcoins.

But if you really like to do this in the forum, make a thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 USE ESCROW!
