Do you guys it's a good idea for us to just buy bitcoins straight from coinbase? And hope it goes up? That would be a risky way, but we can't rely on anything, and that's a fast way if bitcoin suddenly goes up. What do you guys think?  Wink

I would avoid Coinbase, as there have been various complaints from users about arbitrarily cancelled orders. There are various alternative exchanges from where you can buy coins. Personally, I use Bitstamp most of the time.

I've been using Coinbase since they first came on to the scene.  Now I pretty much just use their Exchange to buy/sell.  Most of the cancelled orders were because Coinbase wasn't authorized to transact business in the location the user was in.  Here in the US, I've been very happy with their service with the exception of time it takes to transfer funds in/out.

its probably good to buy a few and wait until prices rise up again but remember this , never ever put all your investment in the same place so keep some of ur money to urself and probably invest in something different than bitcoin Smiley

Exactly yes, more people to buy, the price will goes up soon, but it not impossible to the price goes down.
But I'm sure bitcoin price will goes up, sooner or later.
If you want to make some investment, just play little bit first for begin.
Also don't store your coins to exchanger better to store on cold wallet, hardware wallet or paper wallet.

This. You just gotta get your timing right. If the price does go up (or down) depending whether you're buying or selling. Jump on it! Don't wait for it to rise or fall any more cause you just never know when it will go the other way.

You know what I'm saying  Wink

Well it's depends to your purpose, if you want to buy bitcoin for investment, go ahead buy now.
But if your purpose for trading, you must use the analysis, you can't just buy and you don't know the price go.

you could buy from private on the market place if you feel the need to preserve your privacy

there aren't many way, you can use to acquire bitcoin, the best one should be mining, but it isn't profitable

Or just earn them with a forum signature and start growing a small amount of BTC that way...Investing is optonal Smiley

I've stopped buying mining equipment - have been watching fluctuations in the price, and buying on Coinbase myself when it dips towards $220-225.

if you want to enjoy the price waves, try to earn some Bitcoin and play around with that before investing.

Exchanges are the cheapest price to buy bitcoins at the market price unless you are a buyer/seller on a site like lbtc. But no one buys in the hope for it to go up in price. Its not to be bought for investment, hoever if you feel it would go up then yes you should buy it from there.

and this is the wrong section to post this.

why do you think its risky? If you dont trust their internal security, then buy and send directly to a different wallet you feel is more secure.
