I used bitinstant last week.  I have nothing but praise for the service.  I gave them cash and the only ID might be my picture on a camera someplace.  Fast and convienient...the way life should be.

I did some research and bitInstant may be my best option. I'm trying to stay away from Paypal for obvious reasons, not worth the risk.

Thanks guys.

Very noob question, Is there any proven way to buy bitcoins directly online? Like with a credit card for example.

If you have a Scandinavian credit card:

This site apparently offers PayPal as a payment method.  They are new though so keep that in mind (check for history here on the forum):

Physical Bitcoin, paid for with PayPal [Update: credit card, not PayPal P2P]:

You might be able to buy a small amount this way, or using your mobile:

With VirWoX you can buy SLL using PayPal, then trade SLL for BTC:

The reason there are so few options with PayPal as payment is that PayPal expressly prohibits a merchant to use PayPal for the sale of Bitcoins.  Additionally, because the payment can be charged back easily, merchants that have some angle must charge a higher fee to do so.

None without their own unique risks.
So if I'm looking to get a quick 100 bitcoins or so, what would you suggest?
