Likely newbies to crypto will fall for this since they don't know really how to secure their bitcoins and cryptocurrencies. Sad truth about it is that information and knowledge to the masses is abysmal since there are people trying to exploit new comers by selling those paper wallets. But let's see, maybe no one will fall for it and let's hope no does actually fall for it.

I remember a company in Sweden that was offering the same service a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure if they were considered a scam or if they were actually legit. Ergo, allowing another entity or third party to create your wallet (which is a storage of wealth) is very risky and I personally would not recommend it.

2 euros + the trust needed for something that you can just print (basically for free) with your computer...

But what amazes me the most is to see that 7 people wasted their money on this Roll Eyes

they do this because they don't know about any other options to store their bitcoins, i'm sure they don't even have bitcoins - they saw huge price and now wants to buy them to earn. It's actually sad that people don't try to search info online, as there are many online wallets which are good for small amounts, or they could just make their own paper wallet... They wouldn't even need to print it, they could screenshot and save it in computer.

Yes you can create your own paper wallet with a simple printer and a little graphic design, but a visually satisfying paper wallet is important to everything, especially the hologram is very nice.

I would never buy/ take a wallet off someone, if you need a paper wallet just print by yourself offline, and I will explain why.

When someone prints you the wallet, few things can happen: He is either can be scamming you( which means that he keeps your private key, so when you deposit money he will be able to withdraw it), or even if he is not scamming, you are trusting him to use a good method to get your private key(Good random, offline computer), so you are basically putting your money in stranger hands.

Just print by yourself, you are going to save a lot of troubles, you can use the following site:

Many years ago, I can't remember exactly when, on some site someone made an add ' you still don't have a virus, get one now with a discount' if I remember correctly around 300 people bought some virus. That is how far stupidity can go, people will buy anything from anyone thats why we see so many scammers and fraudsters.
I'm not surprised for this 7 idiots, I will take a look for a week and I bet there will be 30 more people who bought it.

These things must be removed from eBay because the seller could steal bitcoin from his buyer. btw, 2 euros for a paper wallet are not worth it for wallet use, beside that, the seller could move bitcoin from the wallet so easily. Anyone who interested to buy, don't buy it, just go create a paper wallet instead of buying it, I do not totally recommend it.

There is lack of knowledge to the person who will buy the paper wallet, though it seems to be safe, as long as another person knows your keys, you can never be to sure, if they will take you investment or not, it is still best to do research, since.having paper wallet is accessiblr to evrryone with internet. This is why bitcoin is having a bad reputation,.people who are scammers.

Nobody should ever be in the position to get a glimpse at your private key, which those vendors certainly have.

I would not trust them. Ppl getting into crypto probably have no clue about the huge amounts of scam happening, and thats how they get burned.

i won't be surprised if the ebay seller is the OP linking his own auctions to grab ignorant people, don't take personally but most of the times is like this..

Yes, I feel pity too. These guys have no clue what they are doing, and the trap could not be more obvious.

A few years ago, the identity of buyers in ebay auction was visible to everyone. I remember a case where someone was scamming buyers by offering pretty expensive mtg cards that actually were less valuables copies from a different set. The crucial information was hidden in a long text paragraph, the intent to deceive obvious. I dropped a few messages to buyers. Today that´s not possible anymore

I feel petty for those 7 people who have bought this paper wallet from ebay. They might think it is secure way to store their bitcoin but within few minutes their bitcoin will be swept away by the seller and there is no way buyer can file case  against the seller.

Why people don't just search for "How to make bitcoin paper wallet?" than buying anything like this shit from some random guy.

So just for fun I checked Ebay today for mining gear and guess what I came accross:

There is seriously someone selling paper wallets!
   Shocked Roll Eyes Tongue

Of course they claim that the wallets will be produced under the "strictest security rules" ever, but well...in the end these people will know your private key!

Wow, just wow! Taking scam to the next level
