S4 is a great miner, i think it is worth the money it costs.

To behonest I think they are over priced, anything over the £1100 mark is not worth it. Ive seen listing on eBay for £1800! LMFAO At that price its cheaper to go with S3+

You are right its a nice machine.

Either S3 or S4 are better then 2 TH machine first linked in thread.  It is 2000 watt.  S3 and S4 save a lot of power compared to them.

Just a quick up date, the seller has just refunded the full amount.

The ebay ID is allminersltd

http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/allminersltd?_trksid=p2059210.m2748.l2754

Should I leave negative feedback? lol

Well I found a S4 Bitmain 2TH miner brand new on eBay for £1200 the seller said it would be delivered tomorrow but just got a message about some problem with the batch and it needs to be returned, so its going to be another week.

Before any smart arse's jump in, with comments like... dont use eBay, you deserve what you get....

YES, I checked with eBay before buying if the item is covered under "eBay Money Back Guarantee"
YES, I paid with PayPal
YES, I have now opened a case and if it’s not delivered by Wednesday next week I will get refund.
so nothing gained nothing lost.
I’m going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt because he might be telling the truth as the eBay feedback was good. I have spotted his name on here too and it does say trade with caution, I only found this after the transaction.

If nothing turns up next week then I will name and shame.

But that means I am still on the hunt  Grin

I would say just mine using rig rental companies like NiceHash or BetaRigs.

You avoid the upfront cost and get get mining power when needed.

CoinMojo

Does renting rig give you a profit? I tried and get nothing back much..

I think it depends on what you rent.  I think Scrypt can be profitable if you hold.   But on SHA bitcoin is most profitable so often its hard for profitable rental.

Why not just buy the coin directly and hold?

You can do both.....  I enjoy mining.  I'm lucky to have lots of space and not bad electricty price.  If I can roi on equipment.... why not do it?   I realize margins are very very slim for some if you have vat, high electricity, etc.  But i like doing both.

Hello all!

I really want to buy a 2Th miner but the prices are so high, once electric and rising difficulty are factored in the unit will never make ROI.

Currently I have seen a few offer flying around on ebay but the seller wont except PayPal and he says it only 2-3 weeks old and currently mining at 2Th.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2TH-2-TH-s-2000-GH-s-Bitcoin-ASIC-Miner-Mining-Rig-KNC-BFL-Antminer-In-hand-UK-/161439580085?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item25968c7fb5

I have managed to knock him down to £1000 cash on collection but to be honest something just doesn't real right, wont except PayPal or Visa card. Both would provide some level of protection if the unit when belly up.

The other place I have been looking is Alibaba and what wild place that is!

A company called Shenzhen Semtong Technologies Co. Ltd. has emailed me by this morning:

Offer 1 with shipping to UK (door to door)
Unit x1              $1450
DHL                  $159
Sub Total           $1609
Shipping Tax 9% $144.81
VAT Tax  20%     $350.76
Total                 $2104.57

I added the all the UK taxes and was amazed that even from China the price was around the same as UK price.

So I sent back an email to China explaining the price was too high and they immediately returned with a lower one Smiley

Offer 2 with shipping to UK (door to door)
Unit x1              $1360
DHL                  $140
Sub Total           $1500
Shipping Tax 9% $135
VAT Tax  20%     $327
Total                 $1962

Again I have added all the UK taxes. Surprisingly to company came back and said

" About the custom, usually we write a lower value in the invoice for shipping and custom. Such like $200. It always works Tongue "

Yeah I'm all for saving money but that to me just sounds unprofessional and didnt do much for confendnece building, also I don't think UK Boarder Control are that stupid!

They said delivery would be 1-2 days after payment so i thinking about 7-10 days to my door at the very latest.

The miner they are selling is:

http://semtong.en.alibaba.com/product/2010370288-800149340/A1_Coincraft_2Th_s_Bitcoin_miner_2000gh_s_in_stock_7_years_Golden_member_suppier.html

So i'm guessing the more I push the lower the price will get, i'm interested to know what other peeps are paying for this type of machine and where they got it from. I'm not looking to make millions of pounds but I would at least like to achieve ROI with I little bit of extra bitcoin.

Thanks for reading

James

If you buy now, you can still make FIAT profit but not BTC profit, if the prices goes up again , and they will.

FTFY, still better off buying coin then wasting money, time, and energy mining.  Mining the equivalent Bitcoin you could've just purchased today instead of mining that same amount in either several months to a year to possibly never is the reality today.

The worst thing I have heard about this miner is airflow. If you plan on using multiple this has fans going out sides, instead of just back.   This will make it harder to make a row of them.

If you plan on using multiple i would look at the dragon 1.5.  Or S3's.  Either way you will be able to direct airflow much better.

You can also try www.bitmainantminer.com or look on amazon. Amazon's a pretty safe place to shop at.

Only buy from the official Bitmain site or one of the trusted sellers here:

That's a gross price bro!  NEVER BUY YOUR MINING SH#T from eBay, you're better off buying in this forum.

Buy one of these if you're serious about mining:

Did I read that right? You're actually contemplating making a purchase from some company that sent you an unsolicited email?   Roll Eyes

You deserve what's coming to you.

 Angry

No you did not read right and before I would even part with any cash I would ask a professionals advice. The email wasnt unsolicited, I contacted them through Alibaba for a quote, Im simply relaying the information to this site.
The ebay sale is obviously a no go I was simply asking about prices and where to buy. Yes I bartered him down but only for reconnaissance.

This is a first large purchase for me HENCE the reason I am here asking for advice.

Thankyou all for replying.

Definitely do NOT go with that eBay sale.  You will get zero protection from them if you arrange payment terms other than what they accept (PayPal, etc).

Look to see if there are any EU group buys in the forums or any EU private sales in the marketplace forum.

Not sure if the companies you contacted with are legit or not, but I would rather do business with more reputable companies.
For example, you can get a S4 from Bitmain, or join the ASICMiner Prisma GB.
