I don't see one of the best reasons to by direct.  That is you get a warranty from Bitmain.

Compare that to buying else it makes a easy decision as far as new gear.  Old gear not much choice but 3rd party.

I live in Indiana, USA and want to purchase an antminer s5.

I see on the Bitmain site they sell them for $340 plus $43 for UPS shipping, paying in bitcoin.

I have not dealt with Bitmain before and never had something like an s5 shipped from China.

My only experience is buying 3 s3's and an s4 from ebay which turned out ok but the price for s5
is considerably higher.

How long should I expect it to take for my S5 to arrive?

Is there a dealer in the USA that I should be buying from?

I would appreciate your suggestions and experiences.

Tom Travis

Next door to you in Illinois, USA.  I have had no problems at all.  From S1 to S5.

Bitmain is very reliable.  I too am in the USA and have bought from them a number of times.  The products have arrived very quickly and without issue.

From Canada here, same experience.

I bought 4 S1's from them and 2 S3's.  All have worked great, shipped quickly and packaged very well.  Alas it just does not make sense for me to buy an S5.  Perhaps I will grab one eventually or their next gen miner.

For some reason I thought Bitmain was "sold out" until the next batch in June or so. Do they actually have S5's that they can ship tomorrow?

Sure, if you place an order before 11:00am today Grin

I just sold a S5 and will sell you one in person if you live near South Bend. PM me if your interested.

Thanks, but I live near the Indianapolis Airport just west of Indianapolis.

Ok ...was just in Indy last weekend. I have received my miners in 2 days from Bitmain. Its kind of fun to watch just how good UPS is. The only hold ups are in Alaska depending on weather or mechanical problems. But once it get to KY its up to Indiana fast.

Hes, right i show that to but with FedEx it was a total mess. then I get bill out of the blue for 17 bucks, ended up paying what i was saving, not again.

You guys convinced me.  I will place an order with Bitmain as soon as the price
of bitcoin goes up some.  Seems to be a little low right now.

If all goes well, I will order 10 more in a week.

Depending on what shipper you use 3 to 4-5 days don't use FedEx bad idea they tact on a custom charge higher then what it is at custom then lie about it, they also seem to have problems getting them past customs. ups has yet to  for me, I have yet to be charged by ups any custom fee charge they have to pay over what was paid to customs, if any .which should only be 7 bucks not the 17 FedEx ripped me for then lied.

no dealer as i said below direct is cheaper and best .

any dealer charges you more and but includes all shipping and taxes , still charges you more then ordering it direct,  same time frame. buy if off bitmain because Of the 90  day Warr, they usually cross ship any bad miner in warr  in the US, they have great US support, i can say for sure it is the best Ive seen in a while, the seller/dealer won't and will want it back first to test.

I would appreciate your suggestions and experiences.

Ive had nothing  but good buys every time i have ordered direct from bitmain and most will tell you the same.

Approximately 4 working days from the US assuming it goes straight through customs.

Not that are going to be more trustworthy / less of a problem then Bitmain direct, no. Every now and then they list some stock on Amazon.com but its rare.

Ps, the main S5 thread is here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/antminer-s5-1155ghoverclock-potential-in-stock-0319gh-051wgh-902305
