I am a regular Coinbase user. I am using it for 1 year. But I didn't found any problem yet. It is the most secure wallet.
If Bitcoin is legal currency in your country so you will be able to buy Bitcoin directly from Bank account. If Bitcoin is not legal so you can use Coinbase. It has a high-security system. Your money will be very safe.

If you're from europe, try anycoindirect.eu
I used it several times now without any Problems and instant delivery. You have a Limit in the first few Transactions for safety.

If you're from Germany, Austria or Switzerland you might try bitcoin.de
One of the securest places to buy BTC and ETH.

Hi guys, need some help please?

I am considering buying some bitcoins, I've been exploring http://coinbase.com/ but I am not too comfortable having to transfer them my money, waiting four days to have it in my e-wallet or something, and only then buy the bitcoins. Do you know if there is a way to buy them directly from my bank account?

Thanks!
There is no confusion to buy Bitcoin and send it Coinbase. I'm using Coinbase for 2 years. I didn't found any problem here. If your country accepts Bitcoin and your local Bank exchange Bitcoin so you can Buy directly from Bank account. Otherwise, you can't. You can use Coinbase. Coinbase has hight security system. You money stay safe.

I have a friend that wants to purchase a sizeable amount of bitcoin, anywhere form 250K to 500K USD worth. I bought all mine using Dwolla from Mt. Gox back in the day when you could do that, but since then i haven't needed to buy. Anyone have any advice for bigger players to meet up with other big holders?

Best way to buy bitcoins are through peer to peer exchanges. If you want more privacy then look into decentralized peer to peer exchanges like bisq, cancoin, hodlhodl, etc

My fav way to buy bitcoins is through peer to peer exchanges like localbitcoins, paxful, or bittylicious. These are all great ways and they have 2fa and escrow as well.

Personally I prefer bittrex due to it's quite fast and I never had problems with them.

Be aware of yobit, I deposited some coins to their wallet, but a bit later it's status was "delayed" or "under maintenance".

It took them over a week to solve this!

I totally agree with you, my favourite exchange is also bittrex. The volume is also really great!

Localbitcoin or coinbase, had good experience with coinbase (both bank transfer and credit card, but have heard horror stories of customer service so exercise caution).

Why don't you try localbitcoins website for buying bitcoins as there you have all the options even you can buy it for cash and also can transfer funds from your bank account and upon the receipt trader will transfer bitcoins to your bitcoin wallet.

Enjoyable thread I was about to post a similair thread. There's a lot of exchanges out there. I found that coinmarketcap.com gives quite a decent overview.  Do you know this interesting site? https://www.coincheckup.com This site did all the research for you. It's truly amazing. This is just an unsolicited advice, anyway. If I were you, I would be looking for another wallet service because Coinbase right now is under pressure from IRS to give up all of the information of their members as the government is investigating for possible tax evasion against members who are US citizens. This is one of the many ways the government can still act like a Big Brother for people who are into cryptocurrency. Happily, I am not based in USA so this does not concern me plus we have a good local-based wallet service here.

Just wait for your government do what US government do to bitcoin. It will surely come because government will not tolerate tax evasion since bitcoin is the easiest path to escape from it because government has no power on it. I'm sure that coinbase will be very affected by the pressure, Many users of it will be backing out once they release the information of their user because bitcoin was meant to be anonymous.

Localbitcoins is the best for me to buy bitcoins but it will also depend on which country you live and which site is good and friendly for you but if you have an option to buy it from localbitcoins then you can trust that site blindly and I am sure you will never get scammed.
Hackers were found everywhere. But as the above mate said localbitcoins is a secure place for making our trades. It gives the convenience of purchase depending upon our necessity and the transaction possibility. Also it helps with listing of traders quoting different price margin. Can buy the one we can afford.

Actually why localbitcoins is safer because they use escrow services and when you sell bitcoins you can release your bitcoins only when you get confirmation that money has been transferred to your bank account and if not you can start a dispute there and in that case no trader will wish to put his reputation at stake as its a full time business for him.

is it safe to buy bitcoin directly to someone on localbitcoin ?

Meet in a crowded public place and it's sort of safe. In my area there have been criminals setting up meets to sell btc and then just mugging the buyer because they know they're carrying a bunch of cash to the meetup. Don't think you're totally safe because you are meeting at a Starbucks or something. They may agree to sell you a bitcoin at Starbucks and then stand you up only to mug you in the parking lot when you try to get in your car.

Just remember, there's a reason banks have all the security cameras, bullet proof glass for the teller windows, and security guards - they deal with cash.

Also localbitcoins, bitstamp. I think xapo also have an option to directly link your bank account and convert the money to btc (not sure).  And  https://www.bitquick.co/ I found on a coindesk article that it's the fastest way to buy btc.

Circle hates bitcoin now. They stopped bitcoin. https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/circle-distancing-bitcoin/

Here is the easiest place to buy for U.S. customers. It's also one of the most expensive places to buy btc on the earth. The upside is buying under $150 worth of coin and you don't need identity papers on file. As far as I know it's the only anonymous option left in the U.S.

Localbitcoins is still the safest I read about coinbase scam report,in scam section I used to deal with peer to peer with my trusted friends online, you can transact small amount or you can go to this forum exchanges to buy bitcoin just be sure to use escrow..
You are suggesting localbitcoins where you can't even get bitcoin at market rate. You will end up paying more than 10-20% than market rate which is far worse than waiting for few days to get your deposits.

I think you can buy bitcoin almost instantly in coinbase with credit cards if they support your country.

Why don't you just use localbitcoins.com if you want to use your bank account's funds directly? It's a way more simple method than dealing with coinbase.

Or alternatively; you can use CEX.io if you prefer to buy bitcoins with your credit card. The fees are around %8-10 with both ways.

Depending on what country you are in now where you try to purchase on bitcoins. But mostly people will recommend localbitcoins and other sites that offers services around the world for faster transactions.Buying from coinbase may not be agood idea since i have read some complains about coinbase issues on money

That's right coinbase cannot be the safest option to buy bitcoins as we have come across through some bad news about it which doesn't make it the best place to buy bitcoins and if you don't want to buy it from any site then you can directly buy it from a person whom you know personally and that will reduce your risk of loosing money.

You can no longer use Circle to buy or sell bitcoin, they removed this option in December last year.
Instead of being cryptocurrency exchange they switched to mobile payments market with their Circle app.
Circle partnered with Coinbase and everyone who want to sell or buy bitcoin is redirected there instead.

Generally I buy it from localbitcoins as it is reliable place to buy and sell bitcoins and I am buying from there since I am into the world of bitcoins and I have never faced any issue related to safety of my money as the credits are instant and even the traders sitting there hold a good reputation and good trust ratings.

I'm not sure about that but I think that buying bitcoin directly using your bank thro coinbase is the easiest , so I think that you should use it
in the future you maybe want to keep some money in some ewallets like Neteller or Perfectmoney ..etc cause buying bitcoins using them is almost instant and you can find deals in the currency exchange section here in the forums
