Bitcoin has seen a lot of turmoil since its inception. What I feel lacking is the real world applications for it. There are few but not enough I guess. With that not there it's easy for someone to correlate buying bitcoins for anything other than using it in day-2-day life. And that includes money laundering

For example this bank asking customers what is the purpose of bitcoin

Do you think there should be more usages for bitcoin introduced or perhaps I don't have the right impression (if so then it seems I am not alone)?

Also, I mostly see community veterans recommending to HODL but never recommending to spend it in place of Fiat money. Won't that will help more than just HODLing it?
