Just wanted to know if there is a difference when buying bitcoins through an online trading platform like (Plus500 or eToro) vs. sites like Cubits, Bitstamp, coinbase, etc?!

Many thanks in advance,
Nik

Trading site been consider as brokerage platform which can be helpful to the people can be use to change the bitcoin to fiat. Sites wish to change the bitcoin to other altcoins and even providing the platform to buy bitcoin with fiat currencies and altcoins.  I only use LBC site to sell or buy bitcoins at here alone.

I don't really now if plus5000 and etoro actually let you withdraw your bitcoins. I think it's just a manner of investing rather than actually owning the bitcoin you invest in. So if you're looking to buy and spend your bitcoin it would be better to buy from coinbase or kralen.

Yes there is huge difference between buying real bitcoin from bitstamp and coinbase like trading platform and buying some virtual bitcoin shares in etoro like sites.

What you can buy in coinbase, you can easily withdraw it out to hold or use as you like while whatever bitcoin you will have in etoro is only tradable not withdrawable.

As being said above plus500 as far as I know is a trading platform on which it is really different when you do compared them to coinbase since they are focusing on stock market even though theres bitcoin. I would really suggest to use coinbase, localbitcoin and other services if you do really tend to buy bitcoin. There are lots of options and I would say on the earlier options that they are not suited on this kind of purchasing bitcoin.
I would prefer localbitcoin if I am given a chance to vote. Although often experience a slightly more expensive price, but localbitcoin always gives me comfort and security in every bitcoin transaction that I do. Buy bitcoin is not looking for the seller that has the cheapest price, but buying bitcoin is very important to pay attention to the security and the guarantee we get.
I agree with you that if you wanted to trade in Bitcoins through local fiat currency then localbitcoins is a very good option , the only problem is now they have started to charge for even depositing bitcoins apart from that localbitcoins is best option. you can get a good price for your bitcoins and their are lot of users to trade so that you can trade very fast

I heard that some stock exchange now are allowing to trade bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum. But i don't think it will be a good idea to buy there because you can't trade them with your favorite altcoins. You will just end up transferring them to other cryptocurrency exchange. That means, it will be a lot of work. But if you want to trade them for stocks/currencies. I think that's possible.

trading platforms such as the ones you listed (etoro, plus500) are brokerages / investing platforms from what i can tell and may or may not have an option to be investing into cryptocurrency. I've no experience with either of those, but it doesn't seem to me that they're bitcoin related services, but serve to invest your fiat money into various funds (stocks, s&p 500, other international currencies). They might have plans and options where they invest a portion of your funds into cryptocurrencies, which is why you might have come across them.
bitcoin exchanges (circle, coinbase) exist solely as a means to exchange (buy / sell) cryptocurrencies and fiat on a trusted platform. they will not take investments or help your money 'grow' as the brokerages would. they're two totally different types of services.
