Even though there are people who have bought crypto from this site, it is one site that I will not trust because it is owned by Ver. And there might be a high chance that we might end up buying Bitcoin Cash and not Bitcoin.

i personally wouldn't trust anything that comes from Roger Ver (owner of bitcoin.com) but this site has been around for a long time and people have been using it to purchase bitcoin.
the only thing they may scam you with is that you may try to buy bitcoin and they fool you into buying bitcoin cash instead.
Not really an obvious thing and they do really recommended it. haha

I guess OP already heard and get enough answers from people above as there are many exchanges and some local exchange that is much more trustworthy than using any services from Ver. By visiting their site I was thinking what the hell is bitcoin core as currency.

This is enough to not to trust this sh*t service.

You can try to visit this link https://coinsutra.com/buy-bitcoin-australia/ for buying in australia, though I never tried any of those lists since we have a local exchange here.

And this thread should be locked since the spammer's squad already made their move from newbie/jr member above.

It has  some  drawbacks in user experience many have stated that they try to fool you in giving  you bitcoin cash instead of bitcoin. You can try some local exchanges in order to but bit coin.

I would not trust that website. Even this website is active for a long time, people have been complaining about it's mischief. Some say it is scamming people for bitcoin cash. If you can try to find websites with more reputation.

I think there are more popular websites than this. According to some people i know, this website uses the new user to buy their coins. Later they find out the coin is BCH. Try to find another.

I haven't used that website. I personally believe in public opinion. If the news is that people can rely on a particular website, i use that. Anything other than that may bring me to scammers.

I came across https://buy.bitcoin.com/ and I was wondering two things. Are they trustworthy? and also, can somebody from New Zealand or Australia buy BTC or BCH from them using their credit card?

They are most likely going to deliver the bitcoin to you if you used them.

Doesn't mean you should use them, though. Firstly, they are using using the bitcoin.com domain as leverage to promote their shady BCH movement which I don't support. You can even see this as on the buy.bitcoin.com bitcoin cash is listed as "recommended".

Secondly, their fees are extremely high. $10 minimum on Simplex's part, and 5% otherwise plus bitcoin.com's commission of 2.5% leaves a rate similar to virwox's.

My suggestion would be to use them as an absolute last resort, if you can't find anywhere else to buy at then they're not going to scam you, make sure you choose bitcoin core instead of bitcoin cash when you actually buy anything. But their entire site and agenda is shady and I wouldn't use them personally. There are plenty of alternatives, with way better rates especially for smaller purchases (since there is a $10+ minimum fee on their site).

Currency Exchange in this subforum or a P2P selling site like LocalBitcoins are much better alternatives that I have used in the past.

Just make sure you're dealing with a reputable user if going through the LocalBitcoins route, and try to not fall for obvious scams. Account sales do happen on LocalBitcoins, and I suggest doing research on the account of whoever's selling you coins on that site. A common sign of a sold or compromised account is no activity in several months- this isn't to say that all accounts that have been inactive are compromised, but it's something I have observed.

It may sounds that Bitcoin.com is trustworthy yeah? Since it Top Domain? No man, a big NO. This website is owned by a bitcoin cash slave called Roger Ver. This website is untrusted from this community and believe me bitcointalk is N1 here than roger's failure. So they try their best to promote bitcoin cash, you'll read a lot of silliness on their website regarding to bitcoin. Why I posted this? To know you, this website isn't something you have to visit, so nothing to buy from them, all they try is to sell and promote bitcoin cash.

I am begging that you don't use this website at all, it isn't trustworthy. If you want to buy Bitcoin they will give you Bitcoin cash. What they referer as Bitcoin on their website is, in fact, Bitcoin cash. Don't even read their news or follow them anywhere.

Are they trustworthy? Well, I didn't saw scam accusations against them, but personally I don't trust Rodger Ver, as I see other comments in this thread I'm not only one.
I don't like them because they are spreading propaganda against Bitcoin and shady promoting their Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin Core - wtf is that? It can really confuse less experienced people. At least they're not calling Bitcoin Cash as Bitcoin here.

What is Bitcoin Core? That's one currency they are selling. Is Bitcoin Core just Bitcoin?
This is exactly why you shouldn't use that site, they try to make a new name for Bitcoin, and try to trick/scam people into thinking they buy Bitcoin when they sell and promote their own Forkcoin Bitcoin Cash.

This had led to many new users sending their coins on the wrong chain, and losing access

To buy Bitcoin, user a reputable exchange.

And in case you're wondering, OP. Plenty of people have already been misled into making that mistake. I've come across several threads already with people buying from bitcoin.com and realising later on, they've actually bought the altcoin Bitcoin Cash.

Tell you what: get an account on localbitcoins.com. Look for a reputable trader (>500 trades, 100% good/neutral feedback). Use only an online trade. Everything is escrowed so as soon as you've made your payment and the trader (seller) gets your funds, escrow is released and you can withdraw Bitcoin to your own wallet.

There are many, many other ways to get Bitcoin and many reputable services. But this is always the platform I recommend to first-time buyers. Just to give you the confidence of escrow protection (and get your first taste of p2p!).

Is Bitcoin Core just Bitcoin?
Last time, they've gone too far, they did enlist Bitcoin Cash as "Bitcoin (BCH)" and Bitcoin as "Bitcoin Core (BTC)" in that site.
The previous replies know what they're saying and stay away from that site if you're a total newbie.
If you know which is which and quite knowledgeable on digital currencies, you can safely buy Bitcoins there.

But if you're serious on buying bitcoins, why don't you open a "Buying" thread in the Marketplace board (Currency Exchange) and wait for replies and offers.
Just remember to review the user's trust rating before closing the deal.

I think you referred bitcore instead bitcoin core? Bitcoin Core based on Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin_Core . If currency, then it is bitcore, not bitcoin core, because i never heard currency called bitcoin core.
If you want buy bitcoin, don't buy on bitcoin.com. Try other option such as localbitcoins.com or other exchange that already mentioned above.

I am not someone from New Zealand or Australia but you might want to try using Paybis to purchase bitcoins using credit card balance and if you want some bitcoin cash, buy it on exchanges after you have bought some bitcoins. You can also refer to this site to choose which exchange is the best to use in buying bitcoins when the first option above did not work for you. They might be complicated to use but at least it is better than bitcoin.com

Yeah, their fees are 2.5%, their prices are worse, and the entire website is geared towards tricking people in to buying BCH instead of BTC.

There are much better options out there.
