Look at some of the other current tech SP20, S5, Avalon 4.1 etc.

You can run with a underclock if you want quiet.  But I would personally never order from BFL.

SP20s you'll need to get 2nd hand from other forum users, you'll find listings here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0
Avalon4s you can get from ehash.com
S5s from bitmaintech.com

how are those avalon 4s miners?

Finally got to start testing one of the Avalon 4's out.  They are VERY quiet.  It if first miner I have put in my bedroom for fun as I test it.

No other miner I have comes close to it on it's low noise output.

Ya but what is the BTC output vs. what you paid?

Let us be real.

I went from cash to btc then buying.   I enjoy playing with all miners. It's a hobby I try to make it profitable but there are no guarantees in mining.  I enjoy testing them and sharing my results.  No matter what it won't be as bad as my A2 was.  That was hardest miner I ever had on making ROI.  Either way I make sure  I have fun along the way.

What is that thing? Is it like a mini data center?

Nonononono... A mini portable data center...  Grin

How cool is that thing?

PS. It's actually called a Windows Azure Server Container.

I am assuming it is like a air conditioned room that filters the air to keep out dust. I would be pretty cool for a small scale farm.

Yes it does everything a data center does just is deploy able.  There is a company that makes them for BTC gear i believe their showcase one was done with SP gear.  But it was a neat idea drop it where cheap electricity is and it would mine.   Only problem was the one that made the BTC one had quite the premium for their container.

Yea that is pretty cool I guess the only issue would be expansion if you wanted to grow your farm you might not be able to connect more crates to use so of the features of the first one for more miners.

If you get a pump from syscooling I highly suggest buying a different brand and keep it on hand as a replacement.  If you look over in C1 thread you will see that syscooling pumps don't get much love since they seem to have some troubles.

I'm glad you did not pick BFL though.

Your problem isn't with the miners, it's with the environment. You should start thinking: "network container"...

If you water cool your boards with custom water cooling you might be able to get a better bang for you buck if you are cooling enough boards. Because you will only need one pump and a couple of rads and a water block for each board and have them all in one water cooling loop, you might even save power because you wont have a pump on each board.

p.s: I see that S5 have also 1x fan. I assume its for the heastsink on the outside of the boards. How hot do this guys get? If I put a couple s5 next to eachother andremove the small fan and use one of this fans would it be ok?

http://www.northerntool.com/images/product/2000x2000/250/250670_2000x2000.jpg

no but I have  done mods to the s5  use this as a pull

http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Tek-Computer-Cooling-FHP-141/dp/B00A460TK6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427579964&sr=8-1&keywords=silverstone+141

this as a push

http://www.amazon.com/Delta-Electronics-AFB1212SHE-120x120x38mm-connector/dp/B004Y1HLA8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427579985&sr=8-1&keywords=delta+pwm

you will lower the volume from 70 to 50 db

based on my read of you questions the s-5 with the 2 fans above may be quiet enough.

Guys chances are 66.6% that the op is a BFL shill.

BFL has been sending me emails to buy a monarch for the last 2 weeks.

To op if you are real send me a pm and I will sell you a sp20e and a psu to boot for a good price.

If you are a shill for BFL I hope you get rectal, penile and testicular cancer  over the next 6 months.

Ps that is how bad BFL truly is.

lol, no I am not working for BFL.

Its complicated to explain, but as monarch "looks like" a video card its easier for me to get it in the country that I am planning to setup an small farm.
My elec cost is pretty low but getting the miners to the country is not a simple task.

I can maybe get the S5 boards and import as seconde hand pc parts, but then I need to find a solution for cooling. Is there any way to get the S5 on water cooling? The place I want to do mining is very dusty. 3 fans of my S4 are now death after 3 weeks!!! and I am pretty sure that the S4 is also probably death. I cant get to it right now but I can see the dust and the death fans on the remote cam.

my best and first bet is antminer s5 but I need to find a good water cooling solution for it. I havent find any watercooling heatsink on the web that is that big to cover the boards of S5. Give a good solution for S5 water cooling and I am all ears. I dont even need to recycle the water as it almost free Smiley and my electric is almost free to Wink

I am strangling for almost 2-3 months now and not getting any closer to my goal.

What country are you trying to ship to?   Keep in mind even if it looks like a video card, chances are the papers will say bitcoin miner.

Also adding water cooling is expensive and will add to ROI time considerable.   C1 is the cheapest option on water cooled.

Also keep in mind if you plan on a small farm BFL is not who I would want to deal with if any problems.

Yeah it's too bad there's no Avalon US reseller. The prices aren't terrible but the overseas shipping kills. If someone fetched in bulk and resold they could probably do good business. I've been wanting to grab one of those since the first pictures of innards were released but haven't been able to bite the bullet on it yet.

Also, suggesting SP20, S5 or Avalon4 don't really help with his desire for not using aircooling, unless you also grab kits and refit S5 on waterblocks.

Stay away from BFL products. They are too expensive, use too much electricity, are too slow, are prone to failure and leaking, and are from a company that will likely not be in business to support the product in a few months. You'll just be wasting your money like so many people before you.

No no just NO.

Seriously. You are not getting value for money

Buy 3 and I'll ship (within the US) for free.  Grin

what is the power consumption of each one?? i guess send me the consumption of one with a working fan so i have correct numbers. i coulda sworn i saw something about it being .5w per gh or somewhat lower then that but when i looked on their site the numbers were much higher at .7-.8w per gh which is weird because they claim its a top contender for efficient mining which is deff a lie and has been long before they actually started shipping them so do urs have numbers around the first set or around the second set??

If you underclock them they get 0.5w/GH but then they only get about 450gh/s each. They also don't get hot like that. This is how I'm running them now, but I need to make room for faster equipment.

From the looks of it it has a all in one water cooler so if you wanted to connect them all to a central one you would need to find a waterblock that fit it and use that as the one it comes with can not be disassembled. I have had one of the same ones on my computer and I wanted to expand it but then found out that I needed to build a custom one to do that.

Take a look at the AntMiner C1. It's got a similar efficiency as the Monarch, is built for watercooling on a main external loop, is probably a lot easier to set up, is probably a lot easier to work with, is probably more reliable in general, is probably a lot cheaper to buy new, and isn't being sold by professional Right Bastards.

But it networks directly so you'd need a big switch instead of a big USB hub and there wouldn't really be single-point control without a fair bit of finagling. Don't know if that's really a drawback or not.

https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020150124112513358te42YNfK0683

I know that doesn't really answer any of your questions. But the best answer to anyone saying "I want to buy this thing from BFL" is "you should really do something else, because that's one of the worst decisions you can make with regard to acquiring mining hardware". Their Monarchs are overpriced and unreliable, and though they may be selling new orders from stock I bet there's still people with preorders 15 months old that haven't been delivered yet. BFL really seems to not care at all about servicing customers properly.

Hi,

I want to get the monarch cards and I hoop you guys can help me out with this questions.
The product page doenst provide enough info and there is almost no youtube videos

I have read alot about angry custumers.... but it the companey still a *&*&^% or do they send the orders now?

https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage-new-products/bitcoin-mining-cards.html

1) what is the watt usage of the 700-725-750 version? it says 0.65-0.85 but I want some reall life wall usage.

2) It says in stock, is it really? does any one purchase recently and got it send in 2 days? I dont need to tell what dramas you can find on the internet about BFL

3) How is the water get circulated? Is the pomp and the fan a all in one UNIT? because I want to run alot of this card and want to connect them al to a different central pomp/radioator etc... as I am using them in a very very very dusty environment.

4) I am going to use the USB port. Can I connect let say 20 Units to a single pc using powered USB hub?

5) I see on the pic from the product page that the other side have also a heatsink, I want to have everything water colled. Is it easy to replace that heatsink also? Is it a standard CPU format? I can find any good pictures or youtube videos to know what exactly are they going to send if you place an order.

Is it this picture what you get if you remove the metal cover/
https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fpbs.twimg.com%2Fmedia%2FBdf3m3-CcAEipN_.jpg%3Alarge&t=550&c=te7QGzRjZU8Hfw

Thank for your help, really appreciated.
