There are ways to buy stocks with bitcoins but not on NASDAQ yet as far as I know, even though it might be possible to get someone to do that, but then there would be a middle man and your profits would be lower. Until there is a way to get directly I don't see a use from it.

Exactly my thought.
...But, if we can find a way to get Bitcoin directly at NASDAQ it will help exposure and acceptance of Bitcoin, more people will talk about it, more media will cover it and eventually this will help popularity of Bitcoin.

Yes you are absolutely right. I'd add that it makes no sense to buy stocks with bitcoin, because currently bitcoin is a better investment. Only invest in the best. Grin

Of course, overall stocks are better than fiat, because you get something real (provided you choose the right companies). So use your fiat to invest in stocks - if you have some bucks left after buying bitcoin of course... Wink

ya.ya.yo!

Yes of course bitcoin is the best investment so far, but there will be time when the growth potential will slow down and you will want to diversify with some nice innovative companies.
Would be nice to have solution for that from now

It would not be hard to imagine someone using coloured coins to set up a fund tracking the prices of stock

Not yet, but I am watching this space too
There used to be small guys who were trying to allow you to use btc to buy exposure to tech stocks like Apple and Google, (1broker) come to mind but went out of business I think

Is there life on Mars?
They could go and try listing some stocks on Havelockinvestments.com Cheesy
Maybe we'd then see some stocks that actually do anything and manage to survive. RIP, ASICMiner!

Well, title says it all. Would be great if we can diversify our investment portfolio by using bitcoins directly instead of going through legacy pre-bitcoin-era systems.
