The issue here is that BitPay is a steaming pile of bull.

You should not need to download any of their software to pay a BitPay invoice. However, they may try to force you to sign up for an account and verify your identity with KYC before you are allowed to pay, which is utterly ridiculous, but that's how BitPay works. Once they show you the QR code, you should either be able to scan it with your wallet, or click the copy button to display a raw address and amount which you can then copy in to your wallet to pay the invoice.

Who is the merchant in question? Can you find an alternative which does not use BitPay? Or maybe buy a giftcard with your bitcoin which you can spend with the merchant, therefore completely avoiding BitPay?

Then try Coinpayments!
OP is the customer. He has no control over which payment processor the merchant chooses to use.

Hi All,

I've been struggling with BitPay trying to buy from a vendor that advertises they take BitPay.  Trying to buy some stuff with both Dogecoin and Bitcoin.
<...>

Would it be possible to share a vendor website where you have tried to shop with bitcoin or dogecoin?
This may give us a better idea of the problem you are facing and the necessary steps to take.

Then try Coinpayments! Bitpay is easy to use but Coinpayments is the easiest especially for beginners, I'm using both Bitpay and Coinpayments in purchasing products with cryptocurrencies. At the first time, I face some challenges on using Bitpay but I found that Coinpayment was easier, but now I'm a pro in both. So try Coinpayments for now!

Can't get either of them to work.
You might want to provide more details [what type of error and etc...]!

Does anyone know of one or more ways I can just do a Crypto to FiatUSD conversion and then just buy the stuff with dollars?
Here's a workaround [it's a bit outdated so make sure to DYOR first]: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards
Note: Make sure that the vendor in question, accepts that type of payment and I prefer to not vouch for any of the providers on the above list.

you send over the crypto using your favorite wallet,
From what I've understood, only some of the wallets are supported [IIRC, it had something to do with the way they displayed their invoices]:

I agree with mk4 here.
You already have crypto (both bitcoin and dogecoin), and if the seller accepts payments in cryptocurrencies, all you need is an address to pay the invoice. An address or a QR code you need to scan. Your task is to send the coins to the provided address. What happens with them after that is none of your concern. Instead of contacting BitPay support, can you get in touch with the merchant and ask him to help you make the transaction or pay with fiat if he no longer accepts cryptocurrencies?

Any ideas whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

(Yes, I spent many minutes searching this forum before posting.)

I'm not sure if you spent a lot of time searching. Pay attention to the example on my signature. With the help of this service, you will be offered a lot of ways to exchange cryptocurrency for fiat. Naturally, you must be very careful as indeed everywhere concerning financial transactions.

If a website accepts crypto payments through BitPay, you don't even need to download BitPay's app. In the payments page, a QR code should be displayed, you send over the crypto using your favorite wallet, and it should automatically be converted to fiat on the merchant's side.

Or am I missing something here.

Hi All,

I've been struggling with BitPay trying to buy from a vendor that advertises they take BitPay.  Trying to buy some stuff with both Dogecoin and Bitcoin.

Downloaded BitPay for Windows and BitPay for Android.  Can't get either of them to work.  [email protected] just sends me copypasta that I have to wade through to find a possible answer, and then it doesn't work.
