I'm honestly not sure, I was hoping that there was a possibility of signing a legally binding agreement. I don't have anything of that level of value (except my education =/).

If you are what you say that you are,a well educated person, read this.
It doesn't matter what paperwork you have or you are "willing" to sigh. This kind of collateral don't worth a thing here.
The only thing that you can do in order to get some lender's attention aka a loan,is to offer a valid collateral.

I hope to understand it and lock your topic, good luck.

I doubt anyone is going to be able to fill your loan request.

You're much better off trying to get the money from a family member/friends or even refinance your loan with a loan shark irl than taking a loan out for bitcoin. For one, since you're completely anonymous and unknown to us, you'll be expected to pay way bigger interest than if you were taking out a loan from the bank irl.

I understand your situation, but this is simply not for you. I would suggest you lock the thread, unless you have valid collateral. Plus if you take a loan out in bitcoin, and bitcoin price rises fast, then you'd be pretty much screwed as well.

Hello,

I know this is a long shot but here goes:

I'm midway through my PhD (Which I have a scholarship for) and my student loans are in deferment. I currently have about 96k in student loan debt from undergrad and master's which is gaining interest faster than I can pay it down (my living stipend isn't very high). I'm looking down the barrel of crippling monthly payments for years - I wasn't able to monetize my undergraduate degrees (psychology and biology) suitably and found that I really needed a PhD if I wanted to make enough to even justify and breathe having the debt. One of my loans was a predatory, non-federal loan - I eventually had to just transfer it to a credit card with a low APR deal because the interest was killing me. I know I shouldn't have borrowed this kind of money to go to school, at the time I thought it would pay for itself easily when I finished.

I'm not sure how this would work, or even if anyone would be open to helping me sort it out. I'm planning on staying in academia when I finish and focusing on communicating science to the public - it won't be the most lucrative job in the world, but I should be able to make decent payments until the debt is repaid, especially if the interest isn't crippling. My current PhD end date is in mid 2020 (but I may finish sooner) and from there I will hopefully find a postdoc somewhere and be able to start paying a reasonable sum immediately.

Thanks for reading, any help/pointers would be appreciated.
