Good news! I believe this is Coinbase's Segwit adoption finally being actualized by the network?

Couldn't say the cause but apparently, the chart was triggered after the release of 0.16.0 and not Coinbase segwit support (which happened a couple of days before).

Maybe more smaller services had it implemented besides Coinbase. But I do know Bitfinex is also enjoying Segwit right now from their this tweet. Hehehe.

Since SegWit adoption we have managed to decrease our BTC withdrawal fees by 25%, to 0.0006 BTC.

We are working hard to reduce this number further in the upcoming weeks and we are excited by the improvements made possible by SegWit.

Segwit transactions have also increased to 30%!

Finally. Bitcoin is moving forward and will prove that there is no need for Bitcoin Cash.

Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 is released!

https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-core-dev/2018-February/000052.html

Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 introduces full support for segwit in the wallet and user interfaces. A new `-addresstype` argument has been added, which supports `legacy`, `p2sh-segwit` (default), and `bech32` addresses. It controls what kind of addresses are produced by `getnewaddress`, `getaccountaddress`, and `createmultisigaddress`. A `-changetype` argument has also been added, with the same options, and by default equal to `-addresstype`, to control which kind of change is used.

There is now no excuse for Bitcoin companies to procrastinate on implementing Segwit for their services. Bitfinex has already done it, and Coinbase will follow. It's time to wait for Blockchain.info's announcement.

Wow. This is one hell of a great news! Goodbye to all those freaking blackmailing fcktards that are milking for accelerating our transactions. This will be a big step forward for bitcoins! And damn! It is already confirmed that it is true and is stickied already as a news here in the forum! Can only expect greater things to come in the crypto world.

I don't understand why this isn't an official post or sticky or whatever. Is it fake news or what?

Waiting for such implementation in our local provider as I think Segwit transaction has faster and lesser fee.. This will improve a lot in the past deficiencies for delays and abuses from accelerators in this forum who threaten anyone that don’t give tips.. We should wait for the sticky from the moderators as it must be given some space as they seem they’re so busy at this time..

Coinbase did it as well, maybe not with bech32 but they did it few days ago, they will be pushing it to all their customers this week. I honestly believe that the exchanges excuses were not valid but since they can't say anything now, I'm excited to see what are their plans.

Haven’t heard about it in Coinbase support and they don’t send emails regarding this,, as important as this news this must be celebrated..

I wonder how large the increase would be if Blockchain.info started implementing it. It would maybe move clean up above 40%. That is a huge step for Segwit.

Oh yeah. 0.15.1 got its own sticky, so shouldn't this get one too?. This is an important release, with Segwit and all. It is at the News subsection at the top, but the latest Core version is always posted there, so most people probably won't notice the change in versions.

I really hope all this upcoming Segwit adoption makes spamming the network expensive enough for haters to back down.
