A major part of my vision for EMC2 is to enlarge our community by creating meaningful relationships with other coin communities.  To that end the Intercoin committee was formed.  The goal for the Intercoin committee is to find ways to enable various coin communities, particularly cause-coins, to get stronger individually though shared resources and strategic combining of efforts.

The EMC2 Intercoin Committee membership is:

Armis - (committee chairman) representing Einsteinium coin
Gravitate - representing WorldAidCoin
FoldingCoin - representing FoldingCoin
BitcoinNational - representing UNO coin
and
ivanlabrie - representing CHILD coin

This committee is accepting membership requests from leaders of all coins not yet represented.

EMC2 committees here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9783347

I'm reaching out in many directions to find good people within the cryptocurrency industry who are willing to do good works for EMC2.

One of the most vital committees is the finance committee, this committee is almost always chaired by the Treasurer.

The Finance Committee is responsible for developing and reviewing all fiscal procedures, and preparation of the budget. The board must approve the budget and all expenditures must be within budget.  Any major change in the budget must be approved by the board or the Executive Committee. The fiscal year shall be the period between annual meetings.

Annual reports are required to be submitted to the membership showing income, expenditures, and pending income. The financial records of the organization shall be made available to the membership, officers, and board of directors.

Oldminer is the Treasure of the Einsteinium Foundation, and is hereby appointed Chairman of the Finance Committee. if you are interested in being on this committee please contact the Oldminer or me; if you are interested in sitting on any other committee please contact me.

all altcoins are scam at this point and useless. no big store or company even considered any altcoin, so, altcoin=useless=scam

hahahaa, Mr. Gloom and Doom (aka sdc-have-no-tech)

Clearly you have not stayed abreast of major changes that have taken place in the cryptocurrency industry over the past 9 months.  At many places where BTC is accepted very many 'alt coins' are also accepted.

As for your: "no big store or company even considered any altcoin"  comment, firstly, CCs of any type need not measure themselves in terms of if a "big store or company" would accept them, but let's say that was the measure of success for currency.   99% of the stores (big or small) in the USA won't accept any other currency other than USD, does that make the EUR weak, GBP useless, or Yen insignificant?  Of course not, that would be foolish to contemplate.  You know you can go into just about any establishment in the USA and plop down a credit or debit card to buy merchandise using your home currency -- well that 'home currency' could be USD, GBP, BTC, or EMC2.

As for: "so, altcoin=useless=scam"  checkout this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/alt-coin-stores-and-services-list-273148 [ALT coin Stores and Services List]

Cheer up dude, read more, type less you will be happier.

Here is the vote link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9716533

I voted in favor of the bylaws.

And I addressed the following:

1)  Are bylaws mandatory for EMC2, why do we need bylaws?
2)  What are the benefits of having bylaws? How will bylaws help EMC2?
3)  Can EMC2 bylaws be changed?
and
4)  What are the disadvantages of having bylaws?

1)  Are bylaws mandatory for EMC2, why do we need bylaws?

No, bylaws are not mandatory, however they are necessary.   Bylaws provide for some very basic guidelines in which the org is expected to operate; fundamentally it identifies and encourages or discourages specific behaviors in order to allow the org to run in a stable and reliable way.

2)  What are the benefits of having bylaws? How will bylaws help EMC2?

Bylaws create a norm, a standard, and points of measure.   Bylaws allow everyone to publicly know what behaviors are expected.   Bylaws can help clear up ambiguity, can help remind people of their duty / responsibility, and bylaws can help measure tenure.  Bylaws also help the org to follow laws in other recognized jurisdictions.

3)  Can EMC2 bylaws be changed?

Yes. see article 10 in the bylaws.

4)  What are the disadvantages of having bylaws?

The greatest disadvantages of having bylaws is that many people won't read it.

All four stages

Quote
1)  Style layout - after we bring pasted document to the same layout as the original document, we then add, move, and/or remove content to achieve a targeted layout.
2)  General changes - place items specific to Einsteinium in document.
3)  Committee changes - change content to receive final committee approval.
4)  Board changes - change content to receive final board approval.

are now completed, the board has issued its final approval.  The bylaws (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eZoES8nKwh3iN4jeEhaa_b8gw8pCEwmQ8le4hWrxEuo/edit)
it will be brought to the EMC2 community for overwhelming community approval, if that is done it will be part of the the permanent history of EMC2 and
provide a way to responsibility and effectively operate the Einsteinium Foundation and manage the EMC2 cryptocurrency.

i don't agree and this can grow into a philosophical discussion of proportions for which nobody has the time. It won't end for sure.

There are enough coins that do pretty well without 'foundation'.

In fact foundations tend to be problematic and corrupt.

On the philosophical side:
once you define freedom and try to put it on paper it's incomplete and likely perverted and tends to become tyranny

good luck though.

Look to the animal kingdom. They manage to be selfregulated and can't even talk.

If you want to make 'no rule' the only rule it fails too because if you try to enforce it you got tyranny again.

Zen helps.

Is there a genuine need to form a formal 'foundation' because the coin would not be functional without one? Or is it done because in your mind that's how it should be?

Just let go.  Wink

'bylaws' for coins?
what planet do you live on?
emc2 is the coin for the bureaucrats?
bureaucracy is always a very good idea we don't have enough.

bureaucrats lmao

hahahahaaa,

long before there were "bylaws for coins", or bureaucrats for govts, or written text for people there were 'common laws' -- unwritten understandings that guided you through life.  As the earth got more populated and people lived closer and closer there was greater need for more well defined understandings and expectations.

The bylaws are for the continuity of the respective communities not so much for the coin itself, look around do you see any coin communities without a developer, do you know of any coin communities that was PND raided to the point of near death; how about this do you know of any coin communities that don't have a 'foundation'?

The simple facts are: without leadership a coin will surely die, and without an organized membership coin communities will suffer greatly when adversity strikes.  Bylaws make it easier to know what to do, and what to expect, that's what every civilized society wants, expects, and deserves.

Not one family has ever existed without rules, even if it only had one rule -- 'no rules'.

4)  Spoetnik, EMC2 has a mandate to give funds to deserving scientific research projects, currently we are preparing to vet a project:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.9631987  it just so happens that the vetting committee has 1 more seat available I think would
serve you well to take.  The exercise will give you a better perspective on EMC2 and how things are responsibly done by cause-coins.  Hopefully you move from destructive FUD and move towards constructive engagement.

You have GOT to be kidding me ROFL

The fact i am the only one who asks and the the only one NOT eating the garbage spoon fed to them makes me the ONLY smart mother  here..

not a FUD'er  Roll Eyes

congrats on answering the question though.. i guess if anyone wants to see the truth they better get a "vetting seat" LOL

I got nothing more to say here you spelled it all out nicely Wink
Well except to the new guys that show up here.. watch your ass this scene is FULL of liars that will tell you ANYTHING to get your Bitcoin.
For example if Carbon Coin says they will plant Tree's for each block found then make them prove it !
And it's funny i mention that coin as an example because it is pushed by the same team of guys pushing EMC2 including scammer  extraordinaire OldMiner
and who knows what guy is using what account around here.. they all change their accounts more than they change their underwear i bet AAHAHAHAH

One coin cloner was here bragging months back he made over 60+ accounts to hype up and promote his coin(s) he posts.
and creating more accounts for each controversial thing you have to say is actually advised by staff here ROFL
Ohhhh how Dignified and classy this is up in here Bitcointalk

Spoetnik, you received a real invitation to sit on a real committee, vetting a real project, for a real cause-coin.

I don't know why you are paranoid, I know it's probably rare for you to get invitations to do good, but yes its real.

After seeing a number of your posts I've come to the conclusion that you appear to have a sincere desire to willingly
see negativity where none exist in order to have something to complain about, that is both intriguing and perplexing.
Nevertheless it may serve a good purpose on a vetting committee in which their purpose is to find things that may
otherwise be hard to see.  A vetting committee is actually looking for bad in order not to reward evil, although we
are careful not to manufacture facts.

Take the opportunity to put your dreadful paranoia to good work, join the EMC2 vetting committee.

a guy before said on Poloniex chat he was into EMC2 because it helped combat Ebola disease..
i said well that is odd because the funding for it is paid for by the US dept of defense and contracted out two only two labs.
so either your under contract and getting a pay check from the US gov or you doing what with this coin now ? LOL

So if there is work being done how is it setup technically ? which lab is being connected to ? the one in Winnipeg Canada ? or the USA one ?
Which cure is being worked on because both are doing very different work eh

Or if EMC2 is giving funding then can we see a payment receipt showing regular payments to the USA govt please ?

1)  Your comment is clearly off-topic.  The topic is 'coin bylaws' not 'poloniex chatter'.

2)  I see your personal motto is: "FUD first and ask questions later"

3)  As for the Ebola matter, the Ebola initiative was a major project that needed to involve multiple cause-coins.  Each of the cause-coins would likely have to do a preliminary examination of the effort, to determine if their respective leadership wanted involvement, and to what extent.  Then to present their intentions to their respective communities for guidance.  A delegation from each of the interested cause-coins would come together, with or without delegates from other coins, to form a leadership body for the project.  From that leadership body would originate the particulars for involvement including but not limited to: ebola research funding targets, ebola education and awareness efforts, and any other ebola related concern.

Of the 5 coins that expressed some level of involvement interest, only two boards approved the preliminary measure, and only one community approved the measure.

When the idea was first presented, I said there was no way our tiny research grant budget could do anything meaningful about the Ebola matter.  But later I realized that if all we did was to donate 1 million EMC2 to any worthy cause connected to Ebola cure research it would be well worth the effort.  However, the  1M coins would still be worth less than $1000.  So it wasn't likely to get the appreciation we would want for our effort, so the notion of finding strategic partners for the effort was considered.  What we found was as we broadened the pool of participants (other coins) it became easier to move from our intended target of scientific research for Ebola to some bigger target like Ebola awareness.

So the question was put out there, 'do you want to help fight Ebola with your coin'?  not many people answered the question and only 30% of the participants said yes.

One thread on the matter in the btc area was over heated because specific individuals could not understand how funds and resources could be pledged for an effort that didn't have a well defined target -- 'how do you raise money for Ebola research but not know who the money will go to'.   To me that was like saying, 'how do you start saving for your child's college fund, when you don't know what college s/he will go to'.    NOTE, NO ONE was asked to donate a sat to anything, the discussion was strictly to measure  grassroots sentiments on the matter.

The measure didn't move forward because we didn't receive what I felt was the necessary minimum number of cause-coin participants of 3.  The effort had to be multilateral not just bilateral.   Although the EMC2 board approved the measure to move forward and had the power to disburse EMC2 donated funds to a cause they themselves saw as worthy,  for that particular measure they sought the overwhelming support of the EMC2 community, sadly it was not forthcoming.  A lot of homework went into studying how we could do something about the Ebola matter, sadly we ended up doing NOTHING.

EMC2 did nothing about the Ebola crisis, the cause-coins did nothing about the Ebola crisis, and the cryptocurrency industry did nothing about the Ebola crisis, absolutely nothing -- what a shame.

4)  Spoetnik, EMC2 has a mandate to give funds to deserving scientific research projects, currently we are preparing to vet a project:

The Einsteinium (EMC2) foundation is currently working on creating a set of bylaws for the organization, you are invited to help us in this endeavor.

As you will see once the process is completed for EMC2, with minimal revisions for customizations specific to the coin, country, etc ..., you have a set of bylaws for your coin too.

Here is a good reference http://nonprofitally.com/start-a-nonprofit/nonprofit-bylaws: "Your nonprofit’s Bylaws are your organization's internal affairs guidebook. Your Bylaws establish procedures for holding elections, organizing meetings, quorum requirements, membership structure (if needed) and other essential operations of your nonprofit.

Your Bylaws will serve as your organizational manual and will help guide you through the orderly operation of your [foundation]."

Here is the original document: http://nonprofitally.com/resources/sample_bylaws_nonprofitally_no_notes.pdf
Here is was pasted in: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eZoES8nKwh3iN4jeEhaa_b8gw8pCEwmQ8le4hWrxEuo/edit?usp=sharing

There are many ways you can help, you could read the document and indicate what you feel should be changed or included; or you could send me your email address to get permission to edit the document.

The project will be divided into 4 parts:

1)  Style layout - after we bring pasted document to the same layout as the original document, we then add, move, and/or remove content to achieve a targeted layout.
2)  General changes - place items specific to Einsteinium in document.
3)  Committee changes - change content to receive final committee approval.
4)  Board changes - change content to receive final board approval.

thanks for your help, and hope it helps your community too
