According to Vern @ Cryptsy the chain has hardforked somewhere and trading has been suspended. We shall update this post with further news and may also provide some beta clients that we have been working on which should support merged mining
bummer I was loading the BTE boat I hope we will kill bugs and slack will resume((=

Update1 : It is possible that it was miscommunication and that a hard fork has not occoured. However trading will not be resumed until the whole network completes a mandatory update to the newest client which will be announced later today
