I'm not completely sure about this, but you should be able to find these files in the following path, if you're running Windows 10.

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\bytecoin

Perhaps somewhere else in the appdata folder. And enable to see hidden files and folders.

You were probably looking at the folder in Program files Wink

I tried searching for this file many times and it can't find anything with Appdata\Roaming\bytecoin. I don't seem to have a file called appdata. I originally unzipped the file to my desktop. I don't have the file in programs etc.

should be in program file x86, the client work in a different way than a normal coin, there is no roaming folder for me either, try to reinstall the client, and use the light version it sync immediately

I finally found the appdata folder. It was still hidden even after clicking display hidden folders. I deleted the files I was suppose to but the wallet still does not open. It just keeps saying loading blockchain in the bottom left but the wallet isn't opening.

What is the light version?

Does anyone have the blockchain file link by chance? I tried downloading it from their website but you have to pay to download it or wait 5 hours to continue the download. Sad

Edit: Well, after 30 minutes or so the wallet opened on it's own? Weird. Now I have to download the entire blockchain again. I have a feeling it will do this again so it would be nice to just download the blockchain to speed this up.

When the wallet scans blockchain FIRST TIME, it usually takes about 30 minutes, but that's only for first time. It should load rather quickly next time. Just check.

If you still need to download the blockchain data from external source, here's a link someone had posted few days back in BCN thread:

Also, the "appdata" folder is hidden by default, so make sure to enable "show hidden files" option

Hello,

I downloaded the Bytecoin Wallet yesterday and everything was working fine, it was syncing, I backed up my wallet and sent coins to it. Today, I noticed I can't even open the wallet though. I keep getting an error message saying blockchain load error and the program closes when I click ok.

I've tried Googling this many times and the only solution I can find is to just delete blockindexes.bin and blocks.bin files and reopen the wallet. The problem I'm having is these files are nowhere to be found in the folders. I'm not very computer savvy with this stuff though. I may have my file in the wrong location maybe? I don't know.

Any help with this would be huge! I don't want to lose my coins and I have a lot of them so that is not an option. Please any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Tom
