I'm just not following how all suggested rigs have 1000-1200w PSU's yet this calculator suggests 1600w. What am I missing?

Ideally, you should not exceed a load of over 70% of the power of a PSU.

1200 watt for 6 GPU rig is very small. Always use a power supply with a large power reserve. I have 2 rigs. 7 GPU is powered by two power supplies. 750 watt+1000 watt. 6, the GPU is powered by power supply 2000 watts. All my rigs are working without problems. So you can draw their own conclusions between the minimum and the maximum.

Seems like everyone is using 1000-1200w max. Am I inputting something wrong?
