Is the Governor questioning the current security of the data?This is not surprising news because as of late I have been observing a similar situation in many countries. Blockchains and IT specialists are all needed.Perhaps it is the blockchain that will become the technology that is actually not enough for a full-fledged democracy.

Politicians will start to use blockchain projects to steal public money,that's the only thing they are capable of.
We have to develop such data protection blockchain system first and then try to implement it.

I think the strength of blockchain is not storing the necessary information. especially government, cannot apply blockchain right now because it will happen a lot of different conflicts between people and government.

Blockchain concept is widely accepted by government of different countries but difficult thing is it is not easy to implement as it is new field with limited depth developer.ledger block concept can significantly enhanced data security but many government should take it in consideration and accept crypto as well bcz I don't see blockchain progress not happening untill crypto is accepted widely.

I think that bitcoin can secure data because of its transparent transactions so that everyone can find out clearly this can be applied to securing a product license or copyright where everyone will know a product is legally legal and cannot be recognized by the claimant I am the copyright owner.
if bitcoin is used to secure data I think that is not right because according to what you say everyone can see transactions that occur in bitcoin whereas if the data that you have is sent using bitcoin then everyone will see the contents of your data? Bitcoin is only suitable if used as a digital currency transaction.

Using the blockchain for some BS by some politician isn't going to help.

"to uplift the skillset of workers"... Really? I agree that blockchain can help in securing data, but when the data is like this, it doesn't really need a blockchain. A centralised database will work fine in this case!

There is no doubt that the blockchain technology will disrupt many conventional institutional and government concepts and it is a good to hear someone in power talking about it but the real question is, what steps are they doing to change those concepts and what are their plans and what have they done to implement these innovations, until we have those answers there is nothing much we can talk about.

These are not "trend" words, or buzzwords according to some. California is so big and depends on technology so much that its not a wonder why the governor is also a tech savy person or at least tries to sound like one. We are talking about a state that has a bigger GDP than most countries and makes all that money thanks to movies and technology.
Using words like blockchain, big data, AI and so forth is basically a requirement for a governor these days. That is why I think its not a big deal for him to say this, is he right? Yes definitely, blockchain would help securing data much easier than the ways we have and it would be both faster and cheaper method but I doubt he said these because he believes them or understands them but said them because that is what the voters like to hear.

The article isn't really too specific about the problem of data security. If I understand it correctly, it is about online firms and organizations protecting the online data of their customers. If so, blockchain technology can really help, but it's a long way ahead. As for creating new jobs by blockchain education, that's is something very tangible and the society as a whole needs more blockchain education.
I don't think we need to be more specifics as we already know what's the problem with regards out our personal info and data. Companies are not protecting their customers data so it might be the reason why the Governor is pushing for them to implement blockchain as we all know that it can really help on that department.
All in all, great to see a politician who is mentioning blockchain technology in such s positive context. We need more of them.
Right, we need more of them so really be in the forefront of this new revolutionary technology. They need to go out of their comfort zone and acknowledges what this technology can bring to the society.

I appreciate the government that has such thoughts, where by thinking fast it has learned more about the blockchain, as a useful technological development. so that it can help ease jobs and open new jobs in the country. I hope this will be an example for other countries to immediately follow it

And then you'll have scums in the government who would willingly conspire with the bad guys and all their efforts and hard work would just go poof. Empowering the skill set of workers further is a good thing for the economy since it will open more opportunities and jobs for the working population. With blockchain being a hit niche nowadays for companies, organizations and government, jobs will surely open, and data security will strengthen even further. Not that the blockchain tech is the magical answer for all the problems and questions we have, but it'll certainly bring something on the table where it needs to be served.

how exactly are any of these things going to create more jobs? if anything, AI in particular will destroy huge swathes of employment by replacing human labor with robot labor. big data will also increase automation (at the cost of jobs) by making human analysis obsolete in many operational circumstances.
and what are blockchains gonna do? if cryptocurrency ends up replacing a significant portion of the legacy financial system, we'll also begin seeing financial sector jobs being replaced by smart contracts. this will occur elsewhere too---wherever businesses can replace humans with automation they will do so.
the future is actually looking quite grim unless this trajectory is changed. newsom is just throwing around buzz words and being a politician. i see nothing changing here.

And if the government will just use blockchain technology and record every transactions, every money that goes in and out of the treasury and is also viewable in public, maybe this time corruption will be minimized and everything will just be transparent and there will be no anomalies happening just like today.

If truly this is coming from the governor of one the biggest state in the US with a large economy then I foresee blockckain technology going to places as t he (governor) retreated the usefulness of this technology in improvement of workers skills while creating more employment opportunities, I belief experts in this technology will become a hotcake as regards to employment opportunity in California in the nearest future. You will continue to see democrat states get more and more bitcoin supportive in the future. The difference is republicans are the old money and they are probably always richer than their democrat rivals and get more funding from the big companies and basically run USA like a company.
Democrats see bitcoin is a way out of the old money ways and move into the future where they are not the under funded party anymore and get bitcoin support from all over the world. Companies versus the people almost always favors the company because they have deeper pockets to continue the war while people eventually ran out of funds however if bitcoin gets any bigger someone from Nigeria could fund a USA president candidate thanks to bitcoin. Nice to read that more and more people understand how to use the blockchain in the future and what they can be used for. Certainly not all politicians are convinced of the blockchain yet, but as you can see, there are already pioneers like in california. A step that is challenging in my opinion, this will be the starting point of the crypto future in California. California is one step ahead of its thinking in adopting this Blockchain technology. They realize that the blockchain adobsize can help facilitate efficiency and effectiveness and realize that sooner or later this technology will be accepted by the general public.
For this reason, why wait long if everything is clear in the future. Hopefully other countries will follow the policies of the California government in adopting this technology.

Certainly, I do not think that the features in Blockchain are in another system. And if governments agree to a system with an indelible data, Blockchain would be the most outstanding. So as we know, a copy of the data in the blockchain always remains intact and rulers do not like this feature.
