That seems like a whole new level of retarded, but one probably shouldn't really be surprised by things politicians say and think these days. I just hope someone will develop a completely secure channel of mobile communication soon enough so that people like Cameron can't do shit about it. Idiots. Terrorists and criminals will keep using strong encryption, but we should stick to weakly encrypted or plain unencrypted stuff, thus opening up all of our stuff not just for government surveillance but for criminal acts as well. Being a dumbass must be a requirement for politicians :/.

I suppose he knows encryption is used everywhere today, not just in social media. The credit card he use on a daily basis and the SSL security certificate for the donkey porn he visits. ^joke^
You cannot have the internet without using some sort of encryption. Where do they draw the line?
I see a new police state rising from the ashes and joining the likes of China. Gone are the days of free speech and privacy. ^Grrrrr^

Little does he know but he is just making encryption even more popular....

Try surespot instead of whatsapp. It's open source and does end to end encryption rather than server side. It is not tied to your phone or email, It allows you to delete your content on your device and the devices you sent to.  A+

Also have a look at Wickr, offers end to end encryption with auto destructing messages and also not tied to your phone, name etc... and also offers a desktop version which automatically syncs with your mobile so easy to jump from the one to the other.

Does Cameron's stupidity and duplicity never cease?  The UK government has been guilty on several occasions of deleting emails in order to hide the truth from the public about what they're getting up to, but suddenly we need to ban an entire branch of mathematics (that's basically all encryption is) 'cuz terrists are bad?  Someone get that man a few braincells to rub together and maybe a conscience that doesn't allow him to sleep so soundly at night for being such a massive hypocrite.   Angry

One rule for them and another for the rest of us in what is seemingly becoming an increasingly authoritarian state.  May history note that Britain's snowballing descent into fascism began on the 12th of May 2010 when that moonfaced gobshite became Prime Minister.

Mac sold out years ago and I would never use an unaltered iPhone. whatsapp may be getting so big that they sell out next. But there is always another option. Make any law you like, I require encrypted comms and I will have it regardless of the law.
