I think they're operating in the red and having to handle finances like a Ponzi scheme.  It looks like they depend on new deposits to cover existing withdrawal requests.
I agree with this appreciation.
They took $3,000 from me.... no answer to tickets, no explanations, nothing. This was over 3 months ago.
My suggestion to people that still have funds in CampBX:
Get your funds out of there fast!
As BTC or Fiat at any price as soon as possible!
That is if you still can  Undecided
You have been warned!!
Regards,

Man, I wish I had been on this forum before I started using them. I should say that I was using them only as a wallet (so, free to me), and everything worked great for several transactions. Then, I ran into their incredibly stupid "address expiration" feature, where I started a transfer, the sender had some kind of problem, but after a few days did get the coins transferred to the right address. In the meantime, CampDumbasses expired the address (detached it from my wallet), and now the coins are just sitting there in limbo.

So, even though I think the feature is stupid, this could be considered an "honest" mistake - except that a month later and they still cannot get the coins posted to my account. CampBeenXtrastupid.

I've never gotten a response from CampBX support either. Very poor customer service.

I did get a response from their support, but it's been almost a month and they've been unable to post my coins to my campbx account. Just no response for days, then another stupid question, then "we've" referred your case to an admin", then nothing again for days.

Horrible.

WARNING

My most recent experience (and will be the last) with Camp-Not-To-Be-Trusted is, after selling a Bitcoin, I requested an ACH transfer to my bank account.  This is my usual routine and always happens within 3 days. A few days later when I was checking on it, I found a message had been attached to the request that stated "Note: Request will be processed on Wed due to ACH system upgrades."  I had put in the request before Wednesday last week.  The transfer still didn't get done Wednesday of this week.  I just converted as much as I could of my USD back to Bitcoin and fortunately was able to transfer it out of CampBlackHole.

I am absolutely done with these clowns! Angry

I strongly suggest that you do not fund their business.

This is what it seems like to me too.  They make these lames excuses (for me they delayed by $400 withdrawal because "they were busy with the holidays." or some crap like that.  Something is REALLY wrong here.

I am currently having a bad experience with campbx.

I sent them a $1000 money order around December 19, 2014.

I paid to do a USPS trace on the money order and it says it was deposited by Bulbul Investments (campbx) on December 23rd, 2014.

To this date (Jan 19 2014) I still do not have my $1000.

I have been in touch with campbx customer service for over 2 weeks now and have been getting the runaround. They keep saying "wait one more week" and giving me reasons for delays. Then they told me to get a USPS trace (at my $5.25 expense) and they would take care of it. I did this and got the trace and showed them and STILL no money.

I have all the proof needed: a tracking number showing delivery and with signature confirmation, and a USPS scanned trace showing Bulbul Investments deposited it.

I don't know what to do and I am at the mercy of their "customer support" which keeps giving me delays.

Where's my money??
Don't feel like The Lone Ranger, me too  Angry

They won't admit they have your money and they won't give me my money. Perhaps they were trading with the float and lost. A broker should be making their money from fees, commissions, and margin interest.

I suspect they're going under, I just hope we get our money out first  Cry

So I tried coinmkt this week.

notice I said THIS week.

mailed a money order monday the sixth, saw it credited tonight. 7 days flat.

Excellent.

I was hoping for more prompt service but that rocks. On the other hand, they are a small exchange still.

Will be interesting to see how they handle growth.

You guys reading this post should facilitate that.

Their system just seems more thought out. Example: CampBX has you write all over the money order, then they destroy it if its not done perfectly (I guess). CoinMKT asks you to include a separate piece of paper, since the government is anal about the money orders they let exchanges accept.

Also, as a peercoin supporter, I love having the option to also spend my fiat on alts.

I'm registered with CoinMKT.  They don't have ACH yet, so I'm just waiting.
I sent them an email about it and got a response 20 hours later.
Not as fast as we would like but at least I got a response to a support question.
Beats the hell out of CampBX

Agreed that it's not the best, or fastest, and you won't get your money overnight, and it won't be the best price, but at least with CoinMKT I notice I will get the money!

At the time of this writing the Facebook page doesn't exist anymore, anything fishy?

Wow, deleted their Facebook page.  They have time to delete the negative comments but can't handle customer service.  I would stay far away from them now.  Something is up, I don't know what but it's a shame as they seemed to be doing things great for a little while.

I have been using campbx since November 2013. I have never sent in money order or checks, only bitcoins and ACH withdrawals. I must say that they have been almost punctual, two to three days when I withdraw fiat by ACH withdrawal. I will continue to use campbx, just not money orders or checks.
And I had the same experience since the beginning of September until 1 bitcoin wasn't retrieved by them.  I watched the value of the coin in limbo go above $1000 and couldn't sell it.

This is just to post that CampBX did finally retrieve my bitcoin today.
I want to say thank you to them for doing so, but it's hard to after not getting any response on my support ticket until I PMed someone on this forum that appears to be associated with CampBX.
And then they just blamed the problem on me!  I believe it was faulty programming in their system.
Then after waiting more than the requested two weeks with nothing happening, I finally PMed again.
Then I got an email saying that they were running five days behind schedule.  Oh, well that explains why I'd been waiting a month at that point!
I've been waiting patiently and the five days must have past now.  Apparently, they are not using the Gregorian calendar.

As long as nothing goes wrong, their exchange works okay.
But I'd rather use an exchange that has actual customer support.
Good luck to anyone that uses CampBX.

I am going to give them, the benefit of the doubt, but I just logged in to their website and ALL of my funds were gone, cash and BTC. Almost $3500 worth. I am using 2FA and a less than week old random 14 character password, so my guess is that there is something wrong with their site or it got hacked last night. All of the transactions were done within a few minutes of each other, so I assume this was someone who had a bot and found a backdoor in their API. Still doesn't explain how they could transfer out without either an email or using 2FA. Most likely a database bug and I will accept that, as long as they reverse the transactions.

Wow, that really sucks - very sorry to hear. As you can probably tell by reading my previous posts, I have become extremely wary of this company, and I really hope that what you are experiencing is just what you think it might be (database-related). Please update this thread as you get more info. Thanks.

Follow-up to my previous post. CampBX has as of today credited the final $1000 to my account and as an added bonus I am now a verified customer.  I was not happy during the period leading up to this, but so far I have moved a significant amount of money through their site and while the process is slower than I would like, I've never been cheated so I'm still satisfied with the service overall.

I have to imagine with the public growth associated with BTC over the past few months, their customer base has to have increased as well.... that's the reason MCX went down

I would still be very careful using them going forward. It's been ~45 days since they cashed my money orders ($1,000 worth, verified cashed at their bank) and I still haven't seen a deposit into my account. They are still looking into it according to the support ticket, which by this point appears to be a sick joke.

I requested an ACH withdrawal from them 3 weeks ago. Still nothing.

CampBX sucks.

What's funny is they told me their USPS withdrawals are backlogged 2 weeks so I should use ACH withdrawal instead.  Now it's been like 3 weeks.  I bet honestly it's a stall tactic, to what ends though, I don't know.  It certainly seems like they're taking in enough money with everyone sending funds in and complaining about not getting their account credited.

My opinion only, but I think they basically arbitrage the markets, and they used customer money to buy the big dive of a few days ago.

I mean, really, how much money could they be making in fees for a $2 withdrawal? Heh.

I've been very lucky so far using ACH withdrawals.
They've only taken two or three days since the first one which took a week or so.
But they do warn about that initial delay.
Tomorrow will be two weeks since they said it would take one to two weeks to retrieve my bitcoin.
We'll see how that goes.

Hey not.you,
How did they come to be holding your bitcoin hostage?

edit: never mind.  just saw the other thread

I would hold off on sending money orders to CampBX until they get through whatever rough spots they are experiencing. Before Thanksgiving, I sent in 3 money orders for $1000.00 each. I received the first credit for $1000 on 11/27. I received a second credit to my account on Dec 3, and I am still waiting for the final credit of $1000 to post to my account. Below is a response to my ticket submission:

The below are showing in our records, last week being short week, we are working on deposits process. However you should receive asap as they were all deposited in bank last week.

11/25/2013 $1,000.00 USPS
11/25/2013 $1,000.00 USPS
11/25/2013 $1,000.00 USPS
11/18/2013 $1,000.00 USPS
11/18/2013 $500.00 USPS
11/07/2013 $1,000.00 USPS

Should you have any questions, please respond to this ticket for follow-up.

Thank You,

CampBX - Accounts Receivable (AR), Technical Support & Customer Relations

I'm beginning to think CampBX uses the same definition for ASAP as BFL does. I've submitted two follow-up tickets on the missing $1000.00 and have received no response in a 48 hour period. Be Careful.

Yeah I am starting to believe they just suck at customer service and that they take FOREVER to do anything but that they are actually still honest which is a plus.  Unfortunately they held the BTC I was planning to sell for fiat during the all time highs these past few weeks so sucks to be me.  But then again they still haven't returned my BTC yet and its been 2 and a half weeks already.

The twenty dollar money order I sent hit today!

I'm very excited! Just in time for the crash!

Have no idea what happened to the ten dollar money order.

I still think there customer service is awful, but I don't feel 100% ripped off anymore.

If I can find the stub while I'm cleaning this weekend I'll call and see if it's been cashed yet.

CampBX customer support is definitely lacking, as is the amount and clarity of the information they provide to customers on their site. I'm not surprised that they have a minimum deposit amount that cannot be found in their FAQ or deposit webpages. Just last week, I inquired to support regarding one of their policies, and I received a terse response which only partially answered my questions. I followed up by pointing out that they could save themselves, and their customers, some trouble by elucidating precisely what their policy is in this particular area on their site, but unsurprisingly the information available on their site was not subsequently updated.

Out of curiosity, what is their minimum deposit amount?

Now I can't decide if it's even worth the hassle of fighting with western union to reclaim funds Sad  (ever dealt with western union? i think they designed it intentionally so that you want to rip your hair out, so people will learn and they wont have to provide as much service)
Allow me to save you some time: don't bother. Western Union charges a $15 fee to process any refund request.

Also I think you can buy a money order on credit card? (I used cash). I might try this, and it might be dangerous.
That's not correct; at least, it isn't at any location I've ever visited. Most places will allow you to purchase a money order using a debit card, but not a credit card, for obvious reasons.

Just discovered that my ticket with CampBX was updated Nov 27 (at least, that's the date is shows).
They're blaming me for using an old bitcoin address.  I always click their button to generate an address at the time I want to make the deposit.
I am told it will take up to two weeks to recover my bitcoin.  Okay, I can survive two more weeks.

I e-mailed them back asking what the minimum for a deposit was, and was told that they accept any amount.

I'm honestly not sure if they even know what they accept.

If you use campbx, use delivery confirmation for sure-- or they will lose your money order and claim they've never lost a money order.

I used USPS for my money order and talked with the Postal Service agent at the register. He said that if they never cash the money order on the other side (gets lost in the mail, etc.), that I can return with the receipt and the money order stub and get my money back.

Also I think you can buy a money order on credit card? (I used cash). I might try this, and it might be dangerous.

They have been holding my BTC hostage for a full two weeks now.  Almost a full week after I opened a support ticket they said they would get around to getting my BTC back for me in a week or two and then they closed my support ticket.  I have some hope I will get it back without having to get one of my lawyer friends to start writing letters but these guys are just terrible.  They really need to let everyone get their funds out and then close up shop and go away.
Maybe we need to get a list of CampBX victims for your lawyer friend to work with

I'm having a slightly different experience with them.
I sent a bitcoin to my CampBX account using a fresh bitcoin address which they generated.  (I've successfully sent bitcoins to them before and since)
It didn't show up on my account.  Sad
I created a ticket using their system to get it resolved.  I updated the ticket twice as I found info in my wallet and the blockchain about the transaction.
Now, two weeks later, I have not received any support at all.  Not one communication.  Angry
What does it take to get customer support?!  Huh

In case anyone is watching, and thinking about starting their own bitcoin exchange, the correct answer campbx should have given me was,

"We're very sorry about the inconvenience caused by the miscommunication on our part. Due to time constraints we regrettably must impose a minimum deposit amount of ___ per money order, which will now be posted on the deposit page and in the FAQs.

To show our appreciation for bringing this to our attention, we will go ahead and credit your account with the appropriate balance. Thank you for contacting CampBX."

Sending money orders sounded like an easy and accessible way to deposit funds to an exchange. So I gave it a shot with campbx.

What a terrible idea.

It seems there is a minimum amount to deposit or they will not even honor it, and just shred your money order.

I sent a test money order of ten dollars. And they shredded it.

Now I can't decide if it's even worth the hassle of fighting with western union to reclaim funds Sad  (ever dealt with western union? i think they designed it intentionally so that you want to rip your hair out, so people will learn and they wont have to provide as much service)

The guy didn't apologize for my inconvenience or anything, I got the specific impression he didn't even give a crap.

There kayak thing is awful. They email responses to tickets, but you can't email them back. You have to log in to a completely different site to respond (which isn't obvious). So if you're at work and they respond they keep sending you emails saying "plz advise" like you have all the time in the world.

apparently they shred tons of checks and wrong brand of money orders a day.

Also, if they get a money order from you, and arbitrarily decide to shred it, they don't bother to tell you. They just let you figure it out for yourself.

If they're going to have a minimum amount to deposit they should post that, instead of wasting people's time. That ten dollars would have came in handy right now (fuck not spending what you cant afford to lose, I refuse to be poor forever, thanks).

Can anyone suggest a service that wants my steady flow of dinky money orders (along with my occasional bigass one)? Coinbase is out, no bank account. Localbitcoins prices are jacked sky high.

happy thanksgiving
