Normally I would agree but how many of these types requests are legit and how many are scams? From what I have seen, the vast majority are "money for nothing, panhandling, feel sorry for me" requests.

Hello my name is Luke Dennis, I'm a 22 year old man in need of any help I can possibly get. Over the last 18 months my life has gone from bad to worse to down right nothing. It all started when my ex girlfriend left me in $24,000 debt in October 2012, I done everything I possibly could to pay the debt off, I sold my truck, moved into a 1 bedroom apartment, worked a second job etc until one day I caved under all the pressure I was under and broke down. I lost my job and eventually was evicted from apartment. I spend the first week on the street until I was able to seek housing in the refuge I currently live in, i am unable to get a loan or a credit card or anything like that as my credit rating is now bad because of my debt. I don't know what to do I feel like I am getting deeper and deeper into this hole I'm in and I don't think I'm ever going to get out. I eat 1 meal a day, I'm so depressed and I can't even afford my anti depression meds anymore.
