It could be possible but it's unlikely. They would be found eventually and risk their already probably large profit margin.

Binary sites do not need manipulate, because they make enough profit. Plus in secondstrade site you can see all bet history, so some win and some loose as always. Of course in dice site profit is much more.  Grin

I personally see binary option sites as gambling, especially if it is the 60 second one. There is nothing to say that the price that is on their site is accurate and it could be made up to make them more money. I personally prefer to trade on sites like bitmex or Simplefx.

It really depends on how the market is structured, what sort of leverage is provided, and margin call policy.

Generally how this scam works is that the 'market' is manipulated to make many accounts hit a margin call, then the exchange or platform closes out those positions at unfavorable prices for the account holders. I'm not sure if secondstrade does this ... but I believe 796xchange in HK does this, so be careful.

Jesse Livermore discusses these tactics in his book "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator" where he refers to the practices of 'bucket shops.' These binary option firms are basically new age bucket shops.

wow what a revelation. do they also do this on penny stocks?
I was actually all my saving thru binary option until i discover these patterns. Using trading systems of MT4 and its indicators help a lot when doing binary but then only lately that i learned binary is not going to make me rich after all.

First of all, binary options is actually trading so it is not betting. I won't call it gambling and of course if you play by the rules of the game secondstrade won't cheat you out of your money.

The options on secondstrade that i see was just 75 minutes i can be on it but i don't see how that could change. This isn't like having the mt4's options.
I get to have a good wining percentage actually but every time I get to bet just about 0.2 I always lose. but not with 0.05

I think they can/could/are manipulating the result in shorter term bet and also they don't show the source of the price. So we can't counter check the price in that exchanger or site. But if you bet in longer term possibility of manipulation could be lowered as you can go through price in different exchangers at that time and verify the price that binary option site shows.

However i don't trust the result of binary options and haven't played much after few try at early days.

Hallo world!
This is a good question. I think that is possible to manipulate price, but at the same time is really hard because amount needed should be really high and bet are not in the same direction (so if 60% of bet are over a price and 40% are under, if Broker manipulate price to arrive over the price, it have  a 20% profit but need to invest a huge amunt... So risk for broker is really high).

is it possible that these binary option site like secondstrade manipulate the trend just when you are wining? say you bet that btc price can go up in 5 minutes. and so they dump their btc to pull the price down?
