Altcoins are mainly a good trading option for daily profits. When the volume goes to BTC, altcoins are mainly dumped. I think Bitcoin won't kill altcoins, however BTC domination is only increasing.
For some sharp profits though and picking them up at dips, altcoin still is a very cool way to make profit. Asides that, the best way to hold altcoin most especially when it comes to trading is to never hold them for too long as bitcoin's bull trend is just something we will keep seeing for now and there is no way altcoins can easily have a chance to get boost as long as this keeps happening.

Now a days all alt coin markets has been dumping and dumping without any simple pump for the btc price increasing. So just i want to know that can bitcoin destroy the maximum type of alt coins market?

I do not think that it can happen. Because it depend on the coin itself and how much supporter it has got. Now in any point there will be no case where the coin is not being supported by anyone and all of them ran away to get more bitcoins, this is not going to happen so as to things can't get worse with altcoin.

Bitcoin is different thing or different part of investment and just because it is going very high doesn't mean people will leave or abandon the alt coins completely. There are so many ways coins can be invested and this will keep going on ever and ever over the time and thus no coin will get dumped to death if it is in the top 50-100 lists. Thats for sure.

Nope! Many altcoins will die because of natural the death and I don't see the role of Bitcoin in such incidents. Bitcoin has a large number of chances to survive in the market as compared to the newly launched alt-coins due to one or more reasons. It is the fact that Bitcoin has some advantages as compared to that of not only the traditional fiat system but also most of the alt-coins and we can not label it as the opportunity loss of alt-coins due to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin never kills other alt coins.Bitcoin always lead role in cryptocurrency market. There are so many altcoins in the crypto market but each one have its own value and community.

If bitcoin kills all alts, its own value and existence will be at stake. Most people only buy bitcoin for trading with altcoin and if there is no altcoin then there will be no trading and i think many people will sell the bitcoins. So these is no chance of bitcoin killing the alts.

Bitcoin is still king of crypto and almost all of altcoin's price depend upon bitcoin's price so they will also fluctuate everytime when bitcoin moves a bit. Situation for altcoin get even worst when bitcoin will pump hard in very short time, people will jump back into bitcoin by selling their alts for bitcoin which will just make altcoin price to dump harder during bitcoin pump.

But not every alts get affected heavily during such pump, only few of alt might survive in future.
That is one crazy trend that we will keep seeing as time goes on which has even made me to start thinking of just abandoning alts at any slight chance I get now and concentrating more on just bitcoin to USDT trading since it seems to me to be more of a profitable way right now than having to worry so much about the value of some altcoins being affected by the bull run of bitcoin.

When we consider the core applications of cryptocurrencies then I doubt of most of the altcoins. If this is true then definitely bitcoin will kill maximum altcoins.

Recently bitcoin price is unpredictable by increasing its value.
It can dump altcoin price very bad if convert to bitcoin. But if convert to fiat like $ is not so much different. So bitcoin will not kill altcoin market.

Although the market of other altcoins is dumping without any pump in btc prices but if we take a closer look we will find that after a while they became stable and the point of vanishing the altcoins or other cryptocurrency by bitcoin seems not possible as they have their own value and everyone cannot trade in bitcoin because of its price comparitavely and at the same time bitcoin needs other coins for transaction and smooth working so they coordinate with each other. So there seems no logical explanation of eradicating the altcoin market which constitute billions of dollar by bitcoin. But who knows what happen next as future is always is uncertain.
As market of altcoin is already red bitcoin take them to the earth and if the same scenario continues altcoins will be wiped out, now as bitcoin has high fame and a lot of investor there is no chance that people will go for any other coin because bitcoin profit rates are very high and altcoin are already suffering due to high rates of btc and if unfortunately price of btc come down then there will be a chance for rise of alts.

I think no bitcoin can not kill maximum altcoins in a marketcap, my point of view is altcoins represent the token that was made in different country because they are preparing for fiat money to replace with digital currency. So most probably it takes time to settle it but thats my point of view that soon to be a digital currency would be a second money or gonna be a digital currency that used it.

All other coins are getting dump because everybody is just buying and holding bitcoin as they are planning it for long term profit. A coin gets its pump when someone puts a more than 10 btc buy wall and that much large buy order will gets it pumped.
Yes that is right that bitcoin has a great impact on the price of other altcoin. But still i think there are some altcoin who have good potential and people still want to invest money there. therefore i think that bitcoin is effect altcoins but some altcoin still can survive in a good position as people still interested  to  trade such altcoins.

Maybe for some altcoin will feel the impact of soaring bitcoin prices and there may be some who will destroy. And now we should be able to choose altcoin if we want to invest
It is normal for some altcoins not to survive at the end and that totally depends on the developers themselves. Some coins have no project really backing them up and they are just there to populate the market for no reason without any support. Those are the coins that cannot always see the light of day most times when things go wrong. No one even wants to hold a shit coin without many activities anymore.

bitcoin can and will kill maximum altcoins because these coins base their value off of bitcoin. Not only do they base their value off of BTC but they only exist because of the shortcomings BTC is currently experiencing, which is normal for a consensus network aiming to serve a global market. Once BTC scales to become a payment system and the Grin blockchain with the Grin currency is here it will replace all other altcoins eventually.
but it will always depends on the situation but why they want to kill altcoin if altcoin really under estimate for what is bitcoin why they let altcoin been created we know that altcoin has it own role in the cryto currency so , if bitcoin wanted to kill altcoin at first it was done but it was not and let altcoin exist.

No. It cannot, understand these pumps and dumps just like the stock market. Bulls and bears buy or sell in order to make the markets volatile and for their own benefit. These altcoins will get pumped and dumped, and after sometime again the same thing will happen. Altcoins are the essence of trading and if most of them die, then the markets would become nothing but shit.
Pumps and dumps happen all the time, that's how trading works and if people are scared to invest in anything then let them just keep the money idle.

Well this run can't go on forever. Alts will be there are would survive this btc surge. They've done all the time and were able to regain footing again even after the price of btc shot back up
Since bitcoin starts to rise there is all red in the market of altcoin and this is the alarming situation of altcoins investors and all they are doing that they are cashing out their money and they are waiting for the dump for bitcoin so that they can invest into bitcoin and yes bitcoin is killer of altcoin market because it has diverted the attention of other coin investor toward itself and this is the best for the bitcoin investor,
The best coin for trading as a beginner is always those that have low prices in the market because even if you will lose, the chances of the recoverable profit are more.

Trading is not an easy task at all and one has to be experienced until or unless he could manage to use the bitcoins or ethereum for the same purposel all you can do is to search the internet for the coins that are most suitable to you for the sake of trading because the prices are all time available on the internet.
In my own point of view bitcoin is the foundation to most of the existing coins nowadays, and i certainly believe that when bitcoin is surging upwards the altcoin market becomes bloodbath but surely it will go up again because each of those who are existing has its own purpose why it is created, and although trading is a bit complicated and stressful you must choose wisely among lots of coins in the market.

No, there is no reasons and chances that bitcoin will kill altcoins because all coins will just depend of investors in which the law of supply and demand applies. If no more investing to a certain altcoin it will become supersede and going to crap but because some investors are can't afford the current price of bitcoin in which it is very expensive to purchase some of them will shift to bitcoin because of the cheaper price and this will make altcoin will stay alive.

Bitcoin strong foundation and it's massive growth after lots of struggles,  was an example for other altcoins inventions. Of course yes,  as everyone concentrating on investing in and around bitcoin,  other altcoins are ignored or skipped. This at times results in the respective altcoins shut down.

It is a matter of preference some investors prefers to invest in profitable alt coins but it is obvious that bitcoin is leading in all ramification this cannot or will not kill altcoins
It really has to do with preference and as most of these altcoins are growing and some of them are getting known for the value they also create, the more the support will keep growing. There will always be a support for a very prospectful altcoin no matter what.

Death can only be possible for an altcoin that does not really have much place in the market in the first place as we have seen so many of them and we will keep seeing some of them, but with or without bitcoin, they were dead on arrival already.

That is also my observation. As bitcoin price increase a lit of altcoins decrease. So i can say that altcoins and bitcoin has a relationship to each other. It ia hard to say that because im still in the process of observation a lot of things. And that is one of my observation.
for me i dont think so that they have relationship between altcoin and bitcoin just because of the price that bitcoin make some pump and altcoin are dump because the moment how it move the moment how this coin play on the market just because of us.
No this type of scenario is not an evidence for the fact that Btcs are actually capable of killing other altcoin. The dumping phase constant for the altcoins has many reasons the most obvious of them is the demand and supply. As the price of Btcs has increased to the extreme level in the last months, so the whole of the exchange market has been covered by this currency shadowing the progress of all others.

So their demand has actually decreased than the supply therefore prices have fallen .but this would be eventually opposite after the dump for the Btcs.

I dont really sure that bitcoin can destroy the altcoins market because altcoins was born because of bitcoins, even if most of the altcoins price decreased because people dumping the coins there are still some coins that growth exponentially some that have unique and different project and development than bitcoins  Grin
To have a healthy market altcoins is a must. Though majority of the altcoins were small in value compared to bitcoin, it gives a competence. Such a healthy competence is a must paving path towards growth. Upon such a thinking bitcoin will never intend to kill altcoins.
As bitcoin will grow up then there will be chance that altcoin will gain some value nut that will happen after 10 years but till then the altcoin market will remain red because bitcoin is still gaining popularity and it will go up until it will go beyond the limit of people’s pocket and I personally think that altcoins will never get so much popularity and acceptance as bitcoin has go for the btc and earn more and more.

Bitcoin is a lot more used and traded than most crypto currencies. If the altcoin haven't real value and haven't good team of devs behind it, or at least a good community supporting it, then it will never be successful. So yes Bitcoin is going to kill so many altcoins especially if they are just shitcoins, people for sure will leave them and deal with BTC or other powerful crypto currencies.

If Altcoin is destroyed so how can business people do BTC, how can transfer BTC from one pocket to another. Then the transaction is very low BTC and people tend to keep the MOTC to expect the magic only. So permanently altcoins always exist regardless of what happens. Grin Grin Grin Grin
Obviously it is not possible to eradicate altcoins altogether. No matter how much difference is between the value of BTC and these coins, the Bitcoins cannot work alone because other cryptocurrencies are required for transactions and funding processes via conversion of one coin to the other and the second best option for this is always altcoins.

One altcoin is somewhat equal to 0.001 Bitcoins and being such a little value provides safer method of exchange with minimum transaction fee.
Bitcoins can never actually kill all the altcoins. No matter the prices are very low but transaction could only be done if other coins do exist because it all requires the exchange of currency .if altcoins would vanish completely, the transaction rate would diminish automatically and hence due to lack of investment in the international market, Btcs would eventually lose value leading to a downfall in the prices.

Yes bitcoin can kill the maximum alt coins because as per the current value of bitcoin most of the people are looking for investing on bitcoin due to high profit margin and they are neglecting alt coins, and so the maximum investers are stick to bitcoin.

Why bitcoin comes into the altcoins. You please know that bitcoin and altcoin are different variant coins. You will be able to find the 1000 plus altoins in the market but bitcoin is only one and there are huge number of people invested on bitcoin only when there this much altcoins in the market.
To say that bitcoin kills means many people will go to invest the money in bitcoin related project not more alts. Only smart contracts, ICO are the altcoins main resource.

Now a days all alt coin markets has been dumping and dumping without any simple pump for the btc price increasing. So just i want to know that can bitcoin destroy the maximum type of alt coins market?

It won't destroy altcoins. The bleeding that we are seeing in altcoin is due to the fact the altcoin traders are going into bitcoin scene because of the anticipation of segwit2x which  they can get free money out of it. But once the looming fork is completed, there no way that they will stay on bitcoin. They will of course goes back to altcoin and the market will see all green again. So bitcoin won't kill altcoin, this is just a temporary hiccups for the altcoin ecosystem.
If we look at the market value as well as performance of bitcoin, then we’ll get to know that it is the top rated coin in the world of crypto currency. There are number of investors who are investing a major portion of their income into bitcoin.

Altcoin market is no doubt greatly affected by bitcoin. It is because there are very less number of investors who are willing to invest in altcoin because of the presence of bitcoin.

I think bitcoin will keep the lead, but will not kill all altcoins. Many altcoins more technologicznie and have great opportunities.
Bitcoin keeping the lead is nothing to doubt.
It would always be the highest supported coin no matter what. All the above, anything can change and as long as the developers do not slack, I do not see how bitcoin would be overthrown.

It is the market that determines and as long as the support for bitcoin still keeps growing more than any altcoin out there, then they will keep getting dragged but that does not mean they will get dead unless the coin is just shitty from the onset.

Absolutely true, Bitcoin is good and powerful with high demands, no doubt. People will always be with it. But killing other altcoins, I don't think its possible. Also there are many such alts which has some good strong backbone with good team and roadmap. The features of such coin are also unique so killing them is not possible. Blockchain is future, and few alts will be the part of this future.

People are dumping bitcoins now and are starting to invest in altcoins. This is why we see the sudden change in altcoins prices. But I think it is just a matter of time before bitcoin's price recovers back again and reach a new ATH.

It's all normal. Bitcoin had its time to shine, which resulted in altcoins to stagnate, and even fall down, and now money is moving from one place to another. I am happy that the market is correcting a bit, because it just isn't healthy to see all time high after all time high gets broken through like it's nothing -- the market was simply said overheated. It was obvious that the price kept up just because of the looming chain split, and now it's clear that there won't be a chain split, a dropping price is the result. This is the reason I secure profits from time to time, because in these situations I benefit from the correction that was due for quite a while now.

Yes and with the cancellation of segwit2x, we can see that the price of altcoins are now starting to recover and bitcoin's price starting to dump. People are dumping bitcoins now and are starting to invest in altcoins. This is why we see the sudden change in altcoins prices. But I think it is just a matter of time before bitcoin's price recovers back again and reach a new ATH.

Now a days all alt coin markets has been dumping and dumping without any simple pump for the btc price increasing. So just i want to know that can bitcoin destroy the maximum type of alt coins market?
That is also my observation. As bitcoin price increase a lit of altcoins decrease. So i can say that altcoins and bitcoin has a relationship to each other. It ia hard to say that because im still in the process of observation a lot of things. And that is one of my observation.

In recent times the bitcoin attracted many user to bitcoin side which allows the rapid price growth in bitcoin but for the last two days the bitcoin price is dumped due to its cancelled for so now the people are converting in to bitcoin to altcoin.
As i am a bitcoin lover i always be investing on bitcoins i think many of the people also have the same thought so it might decrease the demand of bitcoin which means slowly killing it.

Bitcoin cannot kill the alt coins because they have their own lives and they have their own developers and communities that will support each and every altcoin that is in the market and the only thing that bitcoin can do is to affect the prices of all the altcoins since the bitcoin is very dominant but after than that there is nothing that bitcoin can do especially if we will talk about the lives of the alt coins.
Right. It is a normal market and even BTC gets dumped at some point. The difference is that bitcoin still have a huge solid support doe the first movers’ advantage it has than all the altcoins.

Many altcoins have prospects and even though people are dumping them now does not mean they won't get pumped back after the coast gets clear. Every trader is always looking for a chance to make profit and without altcoins, there would not really be much chances to make those profits.

Bitcoin's price may be ten times greater than altcoins but that does not mean that it will kill altcoins in the market. Both are good coins and are used for different purposes. Altcoins have a different role in the market and are often used for smart contacts. Price is not the basis of superiority here. Altcoins can also provide good profit fyi.

To have a healthy market altcoins is a must. Though majority of the altcoins were small in value compared to bitcoin, it gives a competence. Such a healthy competence is a must paving path towards growth. Upon such a thinking bitcoin will never intend to kill altcoins.

Altcoin value is depending on the value of bitcoin, when bitcoin value is pumping for sure and expect the dump of altcoin value. Some of the unsuccessful altcoin project was expected to out of volume of investors and it would be worthless but there are some altcoin has a strong value and exist like bitcoin.

I don't think so each coin has its own marketing and it is sometimes ups to the exchanger, it is sometimes ups to the supply and it is maybe ups in Bitcoin price. It is possible that if bitcoin price increases the altcoin price decrease.

Yes absolutely you can expect Bitcoin to kill altcoins in the future. They only have short term utility while the Bitcoin network is still scaling. That is only some of them, like Litecoin and Monero. 99% of the rest of them will pop like the bubble that they are. They were created to speculate and no one is buying to hold which is why you see the prices decreasing when Bitcoin is rising.

Have you seen how altcoin behave when bitcoins price do tend to increase. It did dump but not completely die and do able to recover later on when people are switching back again on altcoins. Most altcoin might dependent on bitcoin but some of them arent which they can able to stand on their own.Theres no really need to panic or stress yourself out if you do see on how many altcoins in the makret im sure you wont really ask for more.

No, because Bitcoin can’t control the whole cryptocurrency market alone. Bitcoin won’t be used for small payments or micropayments and maybe not for any payments. The fees for Bitcoin are so high that it may only be used for a store of value or for extremely large purchases.

This will open the door for other cryptocurrencies to be used for small or midsize payments. Also there are altcoins that have specific purposes like Etherium’s smart contracts and Iota’s internet of things. These can survive for their functionality.

look bitcoin does  have role in dumping the prices of altcoins, yeah we can say that bitcoin got the attention of investors by huge price and this result in less popularity of altcoin in crypto market and hence altcoin looses attention and result in price dump. if altcoin increase their prices in market I'm quite sure that investors will invest back on altcoin.

It is a fact that bitcoin is pioneer and face of cryptos, so whatever is happening in cryptocurrencies world somehow relates to the bitcoin market. Although altcoins have to suffer whenever bitcoin is rising rapidly or falling in the same way but it doesn't mean that bitcoin could kill the market of altcoins. Many top ranked altcoins have managed to survive even in the worst scenarios.

of a truth bitcoin Can destroyed altcoins markets and the current happening should be a lesson for all of us, Bitcoin can survive without altcoins and altcoins cannot survive without bitcoin. This is what happening to altcoins why bitcoin should bother and worry about altcoins.

It is not right to say that bitcoin is killing other altcoins. bitcoin do not have any concern with other altcoins, It is depending on the demand of the people, increasing demand of bitcoin is the reason for the increasing price of bitcoin, but i think still there are some other altcoins like Etherium which also have good potential and people are also interested to invest money there. I am sure that if people will continue taking interest in Etherium i am sure that very soon Etheriium will also be trading in a good price.

I don't think Altcoins were supporting Bitcoin's transaction speed at all. Altcoins were just like Bitcoin at the start , you can think about the clones of Bitcoin but with other some improving features. But Bitcoin is a basic thing.

When BTC's transaction fee is high people tend to use AltCoins, that is a good strategy to move money paying cheap fees or to play at casinos. So it makes impossible to kill AltCoin's market, because there will be always some demand for it and without this market there isn't trading too, what is one of the main interests of people when we talk about Crypto-Currency. Then what trinhdinhthang20007 says makes much sense.

Strongly agree with you. Yes, the problem behind every deal is profit, so who are the speculators and market makers? If they want to survive, they need something to sell. The speculators they want people to invest in many increase the price of BTC by taking capital but to transfer BTC to their bags, they use Altcoin. That strategy is very effective, and the development of technology is another aspect. I'm talking about the logical and interdependent existence of Altcoin and BTC.

My point is different, every altcoin born with the purpose of replacing the BTC, in general it is a very good reason. But why are so many Altcoin while the benefits to the community are not great and creating it is not too difficult except for some top teams that have a clear strategy. This is just a profitable strategy for BTC investors who use Altcoin as a powerful tool. Grin Grin Grin Grin

Bitcoin being the first cryptocurrency ever is a great deal to consider as altcoins were everything that followed. Its a very common trend these days to notice altcoins all in blood red while Bitcoin has been enjoying all the price rise and attention. Vice versa, when Bitcoin hits a slump, all the altcoins start working their way back up and at this point, only the established coins perform well and rise up to the expected standards while the rest of them are left behind.

TO kill altcoin will a bit difficult to the bitcoin because altcoin has their own market dominance

This forks causes so many problems before and later it happens. Everyone wants to get their part from cake but noone cares about other alternative options like cheap altcoins. While everyone is digged around forks smart investors already collected cheap altcoin with buying on support levels Wink

That is not happening to all alts. Some are taking some really good pumps, as you can see if you look to bcash. To be honest I don't really understand that pump. Maybe since the BTC price is increasing so much, and there is an upcoming fork that is kind of an attack to bitcoin, they are trying to send the message that bcash is still an alternative if anything goes wrong. Of course that everything should go well, and BTC will just come out stronger as usual, since it keeps proving us that it handles well this type of stress. So yes, maybe you are right. As investors see that bitcoin is a solid coin, they might start to focus their investments on it, instead of risking their money on alts that probably won't do as well as BTC to these kind of tests.

That is not correct actually we are too impatient right now.
The main rise of the bitcoin is because of the hard for that will come .
So all the people exchags their alts and move to bits.
After the fork you will surely see a market crash inm bitcoin and market rise in alts.
Hold tight with your alts.

It's price dump is normal due to the upcoming fork. Many seasoned traders suggesting that after it, it will be the bitcoin'so price that would experience a slump while altcoins would rise. Therefore, what'should happening now is a market trends given the current situation.

My very unprofessional trading opinion:

Altcoins are just dumping mostly due to people converting their alts (probably temporarily) for some bitcoin so that they could claim their Segwit2x coins at the time of the fork. Altcoins would most probably rise back again after the fork. And no, bitcoin cannot kill out altcoins due to the price alone.

The alt coins are in fact very different in purpose between them:

1- Altcoins that want to be currencies - they have to be a lot better than BTC to overcome it. But some of them wont just disappear just be part of the market.

2- Altcoins that are tokens to be used inside platforms. Some of these will survive if their platforms survives (but even then they can be replaced for other currencies if the market so desires)

3- Altcoins that want to be refuge/store of value. The same as number one, they have to prove they are a lot better than BTC at it, however they can be a part of the market as well.

4- Tokens that are actually like "shares" of a company or participations in funds they will survive if the companies/ funds survives.

5- many other use cases  that could be created as this is a new world!

But bottom line BTC will be the number one for a long time and will "kill" some other projects on the way.

actually if you're looking at the chart you will see the truth behind it,
in the surface every altcoin look like a victim, but the truth is they're back to their own place.
early 2017ish every altcoin get pumped so hard by the whales,
and of course someday they will back to their own place like before or at least slightly higher than before.
it's not about killing or destroying or something like that,it's just a crypto cycle.
every altcoin will get pressure when we see Bitcoin price move like a craze, and then when Bitcoin retracing and correcting.
altcoin will make a move,
it's very simple, but right now it's not the time yet and i believe there'll be another downward movement for altcoin.

Bitcoin can make it a slump for most coins but killing their market entirely? I doubt that. There's always a market for altcoins since they overhype these things making the consumers think that they're actually taking a shot at "the next bitcoin" without having to think about it thoroughly like the early hands on bitcoin did. Also, it's a way for most traders to profit as well, so why would they want to let the altcoin market die when in fact that is where they get most of their bitcoin from?
