its very easy for gambling site owner to do this , as long they know how to manage the website by their own, just my advice to you, trust only trusted gambling site

yes but they often scam ( reputed sites ) Sad

Don't troll and talk rubbish. It is hard to remember a site that has been going a year do anything along the lines of scammy. In general if the site is trusted and been here awhile nothing is happening. All you have to do is withdraw your funds after playing it is super simple and saves any worry.

Any site owner can do anything with its members balance.

Exactly, since the wallet owner is the site admin, it is recommended always to keep your gains in a personal offline wallet.

Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody
They can do it but they very rarely do. If you could prove it it would destroy their reputation, so it's not worth it.

Been playing with dice for a bout a week now and won few. I was wondering if gambling site can deduct some bitcoins in our accounts if they intend to. Can they?
The money your have deposited in online storage: say Casino, online bitcoin exchange or bank are not truly yours. To own it fully you have to store them on your machine, and have direct access to your private keys.

But that aside if deposit coins in a Casino with good history of being honest then chances they will tinker with your deposit are slim or non existent.

They can indeed, it's the owners site so yes they can do whatever they can with your bitcoins. I don't think gambling sites would change anything though, it does more harm to them. If you win big try to withdraw as soon as you can.

Yes withdrawing your profits often must be a most recommended with respect to gambling to keep your funds safer from yourselves as well as from gambling houses.
As long as money is not in our control, the site owners can do anything with it. Out of greedy many gamblers simply raise their betting amount and end in wiping out of their profits.

I think that is not possible if the gambling site is legit,

if they deduct your account without you notice the site can be banned and nobody will play at that site again

but from my experience i think that is not possible

Of course they can do this. The owner of the site can deduct any amount from any of his user's accounts. I once invested in a ponzi, and the wallet kept changing and there had been no payouts. So yeah.....

Really ? Your ponzi had a wallet ? I would like to know more about it ?Wow never knew the owner of the gambling site  will deduct the money from your wallets .Such a cheeky bastard .Also tell me the name of the ponzi you invested in ,we will sue the owner together.

Yes they can, that's why it's best to keep track of the amount you have before logging out and take screenshots for proof.
Or you could just withdraw if you've won a huge amount. That's the smartest thing to do.

They can do whatever what they want with the amount in your account since you made a deposit on their site. If you have a high balance I suggest you withdraw before playing again.

No dude ! They should'nt ! They can take some transaction fee if they've mentioned but most of the sites do charge a negligible amount as transaction fee.If apart from that your money is automatically deducted frm your account you can always submit a support ticket or raise an issue.

let me fix your sentence.
they can do editing all information in their own website include your account,
but they shouldn't do it.

Why would you ask that after a week of playing?

I'll be honest it sounds like you may be up to no good. (if that is the case then yes they can easily!)

If you're a normal player just playing dice not doing anything shady then you have nothing to worry about in the slightest pal assuming of course that you are playing at one of the top dice sites.

Just wanna ask as I don't remember how much I have in my account. I just login and saw that amount I never have. will try to record my btc every time i go stop.

I see, in my opinion assuming you are playing at a trusted site you have nothing to worry about. But to be on the safe side and for your own piece of mind you are best of withdrawing after your days gambling. So you are always in control of your own funds which is one of the best thing about bitcoin. You gotta be in control of your priv keys pal.

after reading the thread subject and replies one thing is confirm that playing in casinos and dice game is fully risky because owner of the site can do anything with our account and what ever we won can go anywhere then it is totally literally waste of time, damn i also wasted so much time and my bitcoins, now i will stop fully.

thanks guys for giving so good information.

That's not the point here. Certainly there are gambling sites that are reliable and trustworthy and I mean some of them are in the business for years so surely they are doing it right. Newer gambling sites are spending thousands to advertise their services and so I think they're not scam at all.

You'd be alarmed if there are accusations to them though.

If its a scam site then they can and will steal all your BTC if they want. Happened before many many times. That's why its never a good idea to hold a large amount of BTC at once. Just deposit and withdraw when you are done.

This is the best strategy, but if you want to keep it in your gambling site account, it should be fine. Honestly, if you play fair and don't cheat, the likeliness of your balance being deducted by one of the reputable gambling sites (i.e primedice, bustabit) is close to 0. These sites have more to make by staying rather than running with money.

Yes, the owner can run with everyone's money if he wants.

But will he? Big sites like Prime Dice and others earn a good amount of BTC by day, so would not take much time until they earn honestly what they could steal. Plus they would really piss people off, they would DOX them and go after the owner, and they would have problems with the law too. It surely would hurt them in real life.

I think it is unlikely that the owners of the big casinos will just run away or cheat people, even if they are dishonest, because it would not be profitable

they can do that only if you loose money then they can take the money you lost but they cant take your money without any reason because it would mean that they are stealing your money this would definitely not be good for all their reputation

Yes they can if they have their own script i mean not that use moneypot api. It is easy to deduct, add or even delete members balance and detail in database for a site owner. So it is always suggested to use different password in different sites.

Of course it can. but very rarely admins who do stupid things like it only will lose customers best.

If the site has a referral program, there are many users who try to cheat to earn more money and that time the site either bans them or removes all the referral rewards. Just happened with betcoin but they just reduced the referral reward for all users.

Of course they can, but why would they harm their reputation by doing that? It's like having your money in a bank and seeing your account's balance is dropping.
Would you trust the bank after that?
first thing that comes to mind is an exit scam, a more investment oriented site could very well make a net profit from scamming investor funds given enough advertising was done to attract people. this wont be the case for established sites with a reputation, but its just a possibility.

Gambling sites aims to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable online gambling experience. So if some site admin deducet amount u have, if they are not provably fair they will be ruined fast. People will not go there simply. If u play fair and dont cheat I think u dont have nothing to be afraid. I play on several sites and everything is fine in this few months. The truth is, there is a spectrum of gambling sites that run from pure shit to highly ethical. There is many ways for checking some site before u deposit money, inform yourself before everything u do!
Whichever site u choose, I wish you luck and happy betting.

If you don't trust the site, you should not leave your bitcoin on the site but withdraw it after playing. Or you should not use it at all and go play on some other sites. If you trust the site enough that you are okay to leave your bitcoin there, why would you worry about the site secretly taking a small part of your balance, when they can take all your bitcoin and shut down the site any time they want?

The site owner can do anything to your balance if he/she wants to. However, there is no advantage in doing that unless you are cheating. This will only chase away potential customers from the site.

The question you ask has a pretty obvious answer. Can a website owner modify and change the content of the site? If you answer that one you will know.
If the gambling site is legit and is not into shady stuff then they shouldn't. Play at reputable sites and it will not happen.

Of course they can. If you exploit a bug on the site then they might "tidy up" your account, but (generally speaking) manipulating user balances isn't a common procedure.

I've you have done nothign wrong they can't. But if you try to do fraud or any other illegal thing, they do.

The best way is to contact them before making a topic. They don't want to lose their good name either. So contact them and ask them for a reason. If the reason is not fair. Then start making a topic. This way you are certain you can do it. Now it feels like your accustation is a little bit emotional, instead of fair.

They pretty much have the full control over your account however they wouldn't be just deducting balance from your account for no reasons so shouldn't worry on that side unless your cheating in a way so the moment they catch you, they certainly would deduct balance from your account to make it fair for everyone.

Yes, they can easily change any of their members account balance. They just need to change the data in their database.
I'm pretty sure the admin of a gambling website will not do it because that will just ruin their reputation.

Yes correct. If any one want to do business for long term than no admin will do this kind of cheap tricks. Because in gambling business trust is very important once lost then they will be forever out from gambling business. So no trustworthy admins will do this kind of work.

Any site owner can do anything with its members balance.

Yes, site admins will have a full access to all members account. But if any admin doing like that means the site may not be popular or they may not be worrying on long term business in this most profitable area. If you suspect site is doing some suspicious activities in your account than you better switch to some other reputed sites to play.

They obviously can. They are the admins of the site and they can literally do anything.

They can do things a lot worse than deducting amounts from your account too.

and every admin wouldn't take a risk by changing everything without user permission, it would make them looks fool, risking valuable customer for something not important like that.
my question is there a gambling website that stored our password? how we can know they didn't do it?

Most gambling sites stores their users credentials, but if they follow the "rule of the thumb" it is stored in hashes or is encrypted on their database. Every site that allows you to register, and ask for username/password, stores them on their database.

Why would you ask that after a week of playing?

I'll be honest it sounds like you may be up to no good. (if that is the case then yes they can easily!)

Where do you play? You should ask their admin to give full record of your bet. This thing is a must to record all players activity in their site. Try to do check your balance and your history then you could check it whether it is true or not. But I dont think they will do something like that. They have enough to open new site rather than steal some of your coin out there  Cheesy
