From my experiences, the power usage would be cutting it very close to what your PSU can handle. My system, when it had 2x 7970's, at full load sucked about 720W. That system had the bare minimum of everything, but GPU's. Now, you have some OC'd components, many fans, a sound card, etc. Your PSU could handle it, but I would guess you would be running above the rated 750W power limit. If that was to happen, your PSU would be supplying dirty power to the components, possible decreasing their life expectancy.

My recommendation would be to buy a 850 or more watt power supply. If you had space in your case, you could add a second power supply, but since you use your computer for gaming, you probably won't be able to do the whole GPU with risers in a custom made case thing.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Btw, which other gpu would you recommend me to buy, so that i can add it in my rig without upgrading the psu?
Also, just for curiosity, would an XFX 850W (80+ Bronze) be enough for the R9 280x? Lastly, could the 750w be enough if i remove the overclocks from the gpu and from the cpu?

Without upgrading your PSU I would not recommend it. When I got my 2 R9 290X I upgraded my PSU from a 950 to 1200 as I plan to add more and I am sure the 950 would have handled them but I figured what the hell Smiley

The price of video cards vs the price of power supply's I would say dont bother.  Either put the other card in another machine or get an 850+.  Not worth it.    Good luck.

Personally, I would likely try to find an 850w to run all of that. Everything you have should be ok to go with the 750, but it would be a little too close for comfort for me. Even with 80+ Golds, I like to have a decent amount of headroom. I think you could consider the 7950 having a max tdp of about 250 ..and the same can be said for most 280x, but it is possible the 280x could draw more (depending upon brand). I believe the Asus 280x CII top can run as high as 300w. I think you're ok, but it could be cutting it a bit close.

Hi everyone. I was thinking in adding another gpu to my rig. I'd like to buy a R9 280X and use it on my rig, which has an OC'ed 3570k @4.0Ghz (core voltage goes from 0.9 to 1.15V), an OC'ed 7950 (actually the card it's undervolted from the stock vddc), 2 3,5" HDDs, 1 SSD, 1 DVD, 6 fans (5 are 120mm and 1 is a 200mm) and a Asus DGX sound card, all this on a XFX 750W (Bronze) PSU.
I checked on the site where you can calculate the wattage of your rig, and it  was 566W even with the R9 280x (if i put everything right on the page): check https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18993865/Screenshot/Screenshot%202013-12-27%2017.28.25.png and https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18993865/Screenshot/Screenshot%202013-12-27%2017.28.28.png, but i'd like to be sure of being able to actually add it.
Since i use my PC as a gaming pc and also as a mining rig (i do gpu mining just 4-5 hours per day btw), do you think that my current PSU should be enough to run another gpu (the r9 280x), and keep doing the same things as i do now? Thanks a lot.
