I've taken all my coins from armory and want to free up space on my hard drive. Can I delete all of blockchain and bitcoin core files without compromising my multibit wallet?

No matter what you choose, do not delete a single file until you have a balance showing in the new wallet that matches your old balance, whether via import, sweeping or whatever.  Do not think that everything is going to be ok, make sure that it is before going forward.  That is the only way to keep from losing what you have gotten and save yourself a lot of hassle.

Before you commit to MultiBit HD, you might want to browse through this subforum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=99.0

Pay particular attention to all the "Password did not unlock the wallet" threads... You may also find this issue thread on the MultiBit HD Github interesting: https://github.com/keepkey/multibit-hd/issues/982

The issue has been known for weeks... not sign of a fix from the MultiBit HD devs

TLDR; MultiBit HD is probably not a reliable wallet at this point in time

Because of so many issues actually happening with many users using Multibit HD it is better to switch to a wallet which has an active developer team like Electrum. They work almost the same as they are both based on a deterministic seed so do not go with Multibit until a fix has been made for the ongoing issues.

Ive got paper back ups of all my wallets is that sufficient?

As long as you have alternative means to access the wallet you are in the clear.

If you are deleting your Bitcoin Core data, I would recommend keeping the wallet.dat, just in case you will need it in the future. Otherwise, Multibit doesn't depend on Bitcoin Core and you can delete the block files safely.
