Erm... No. Your router costs more than you will ever hope to recover, and will just make it die sooner. It is likely an ARM system, and that is worse than regular CPU mining. I usually encourage small miners, but in this case, your would be better off just selling it. You'd make the same amount back in about 100 years of mining realistically.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
The real question is that what size of mining rewards these people with these crazy ideas are expecting? It's pretty clear that low-power equipment like this can't get you that much of hash rate. Nowadays it is sometimes hard to find common sense in people.

You may consider Antrouter R1 with a 5 Ghash speed. It is a router and a bitcoin miner. It can also be connected to external Antminers to increase the mining speed.

I don't think he's being clear. If he means mining with the router only, I highly doubt there's any coin that would be profitable. (A Pi 3 can mine earnhoney, but not very stably and that's already many times more powerful than a cheap router.) If he means using the router to host a USB ASIC miner, most likely yes.

Why would you even bother? In a couple decades you might even have enough satoshis to cash out of your pool
