He wasn't interested in the first place. His other posts are all in some altcoin promotion so perhaps it was all indirect advertising. Locking the thread.

With a laptop? None. The risk to fry the laptop is too big.

If the laptop is your only computer do not even think of mining as you'll be out a PC during RMA downtime.

If you're still in the warranty period you can try mining a CPU based coin but you're looking at making somewhere between 1 and 10 cents a day at the most.  May be good for learning about mining an altcoin but definitely not worth the risk considering the minimal rewards.
+1  thanks for pointing that out DrG.  i neglected to mention that load/impact it has on the PC.

you can still CPU mine...go to ypool.net.  you won't earn much, but at the same time it's a good way to get your feet wet without it costing you an arm and a leg.  or you may just want to try doing it with an inexpensive asic.  the r-box, goes like 40gh/s and cost like $40.

The days of mining with your CPU and video cards are over.

It's officially the ASIC era, even with alt coins.  KNC just started shipping their scrypt miner Titan, so even the shit/scam coins network hash rate and difficulty will skyrocket through the roof.

Pick the easy way out, and just BUY and HODL BTC.
