You can mine xmr on it but its not profitable  , you get on the pi 3 on xmr 5-10 hs  on it !

Software for pi to mine :  https://www.novaspirit.com/2017/04/10/cpuminer-raspberry-pi/

You have to compile!

If we use raspberry pi 3 and use ASIC miner to do the mining is it possible?

Larger ASICs like Antminers tend to have all the functionality built in as I understand it, but the Pi is good for running things like Gridseeds or stick miners.

If raspberry pi is effective in staking, which coin would you suggest to stake? I hope I can work it out with my rasp B.

Well, you COULD mine on a Raspberry Pi 3, but it would be HIGHLY ineffective and very slow.

If you get a GPU, like you said, then I think it may work (providing the Raspberry Pi’s CPU can handle running the mining algorithm- which it can). It would probably be a very effective mining rig because the Raspberry Pi does not use much power and it is quite cheap.

Good luck and tell me if you try it because i am interested in the results! Tongue

I would like to know how he is doing after a week with regards to his mining adventure. I'd also be doing this if he is successful with it.

The best thing to do to earn profit in mining is to use the best proven method. In this case, use a gpu rig. Follow the advise of many but if you are totally in to it, try. I'm pretty sure you'll just waste your time on this. GPU rig is a good investment given you have good price of electricity. You can invest time on your project but you will go nowhere, best option is to invest on a mining rig.

OK thanks.
But what if I get external graphic card for Pi or usb card?

I already install Geth on Pi, but how to use this?
Anybody have experience?

Give it a shot. There's not too many reviews on the topic with latest soft/hardware.

I'd suggest grabbing a few different types of adapters, and power options for your External GPU on the Pi, and just test away.

A Raspberry Pi is to GPU as GPU is to ASIC.

This is a good analogy.

You are just wasting your time trying to get this thing run.
As people said before me, don't do it. You won't earn nothing. If you want to mine get a proper GPU to hook it up to a proper PC.

Raspberry Pi 3 is not suitable for mining. You can do mining with video cards. Because for mining these cards show the best performance. You can research the best cards for mining as price-performance ratio.

A Raspberry Pi is probably better for staking than mining.

Unless it's some kind of ARM specific PoW algo you will almost certainly never make anything to speak of.

Would love to be proven wrong tho!

And if anybody can give me some tutorial link how to set ethereum.

If I cant what is the best crypto for mining on Raspberry Pi 3?
Thanks
