You have 6X 6+2 PCI-E outputs on your PSU, therefore you can connect risers + GPU directly to the outputs of your PSU.
My risers have a 6-pin PCI-E power input.

I don't use the molex adaptor, it's dangerous. Molex can't handle the same wattage as PCI-E cables.

Your PCI-E cables may be too short, therefore 8-pin (6+2) to 8-pin (6+2) splitters may be required.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm still a little confused however.

Would it be better to go for the EVGA Supernova 750W G3 https://www.evga.com/products/Specs/PSU.aspx?pn=9bdf2642-17e4-483a-9ac7-0488b88de7a2

This has 6 PCIe connectors (2 extra) and if I'm not mistaken the risers and GPU's could all be connected to the PCIe ports?

Hey Guys,

I'm just getting into mining and am building a rig from a HP XW4600. I've been doing a lot of research over the past month but am stumped by 1 question still.

I am looking at using this EVGA Supernova 750W PSU https://www.newegg.com/global/nz/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438017 as I have read they are very good and lots of people use them for mining. I just can't figure out how to power the 3 GPU's and risers from the PSU. The GPU's would be powered by the VGA ports, but I'm not sure how to power the risers. I have read that it is not okay to power risers using SATA as it is a fire risk, so the SATA ports wouldn't be able to be used. Is there any way to power the 3 RX570's with this PSU?

Any help is much appreciated

Use PCI-E cable splitters: 8-pin to 2X 8-pin (6+2). DON'T use a 6-pin to 8-pin splitter.
For better cooling, I use risers for my three RX 570

I have used the 2x Molex to 8/6 pin PCI-E and everything works flawless. With dual Molex you should be fine, its the single Molex to PCI-E that is a fire hazard. It's important to never use more than two connectors per PSU strand to avoid overloading the cable. The problem with the Molex adapters is the mediocre manufacturing quality and they fall apart after multiple uses. My advice would be to avoid using adapters in the first place by using a PSU with enough PCI-E connectors, or using a multiple PSU setup so that you have all the necessary connections.

I was using the sata to power the riser without problem, so it should be ok, actually...
if we are speaking about power limit, then it is good for your PSU that should work at 600-650W max..
so modded rx570 will eat about 400-450W and some POWER you need to cpu and mb and risers..
you are close to the limit, but it should hold..

If you afraid using connector SATA to powering GPU, you can modify it. Cut your SATA connector cable and then soldering it trough to line power at PSU. And be ware to remember - and + cable. Smiley
