I don't recommend running when lack 2 heatsink. The 17 series miner uses low temperature tin, and does not use thermosetting adhesive to connect the heat sink like the s9, so the heat sink can easily oxidize and fall off under high temperature conditions. If you want to solder the heatsink back, you need to clean your ASIC chip before soldering. And if the chip surface has been oxidized to black or gray, or the gray crystal on the chip surface has been defective, it is recommended that you replace it, because these conditions will affect the heat dissipation and stability of the chip.

Two of my chips got stuck to the heatsink when it dropped, whilst im arranging it to be repaired, can I safely run the board?

when your hash board temp rises your control board kill hash board and stop mining or restart s17+ because bad core or high temp.
your hash board have 4 temp sensor and read your temp from every chip and send average temp to control board.
when your hit sink on chip lost, your chip warming deadly and your fans can't get cool your chip, cause your hash board didn't damaged control board power off hash board or restart to hash boards get cooler.
that work only 5-10 min.
better way replace your asics and put your hit sink on chip with solder in s17+.

Block halving is coming.
If it's not shorted you can run them safely but the problem is sometimes Bitmain's firmware if they detect an incorrect amount of ASIC chips in one of your hash boards that Hashboard will automatically stop mining except on modded firmware like BraiinsOS.

The above post is right its easy to reattach them but without BGA hot air tool you can't able to reattach them.

I wouldn't suggest, but if those are just heatsinks and the chips are OK, then you could just solder them back yourself, it is easy, 5 mins job.
