Nah, I'm sure mods/global mods/admins without DB access cannot remove the trust ratings. Only theymos/people with DB access can do so, and I'm quite sure apart from a few spammers (who left negative feedback to over 30 people to extort them to pay to remove the ratings), no ratings are removed.

That's good to know.  Wouldn't be to allow them to, a lot of mods do business on here.  Most users will look at who left the negative feedback and not just that it's there if you only have a small amount anyway.

Oh, but if a user is deleted the trust feedback he left will be deleted too. I just found that after someone reported a guy (who was already banned for spreading malware links + trolling) who left over 30+ spam feedbacks.

I don't think mods can do it, pretty sure only an admin can.

I think they can't alter or remove feedbacks, if you look at John K's profile, you will find that he received many fake negative trust ratings from scammers and he's not able to remove them.
Sure but the fact that he didn't doesn't mean that he couldn't.

(disclaimer: obviously db admins could directly alter the database, what I'm asking if there's a way to do that directly in the forum software, and if yes why on Earth)

I've been told that mods can alter trust feedback.
I am quite surprised, since doing that would render trust utterly pointless: if I chose to trust someone, I do trust him! If someone doesn't agree with his feedback, he's free to post an opposite feedback instead...
