It will happen, just you wait, kicking myself into working on things now too because I know any money I earn isn't going to be worthless in a year or two.

Not too surprising it got so popular.  There are a lot of services linked with bitcoin that don't actually provide anything tangible; mostly to do with bitcoin itself and gambling.  But what we need right now are more ways to spend bitcoin, and pizza delivery is something a lot of us use our money for.  Thank you to the guys who thought up pizza for bitcoin, and I hope more people follow your path in creating real services for me to use my coin with Grin

I think physical, non-mining related goods for bitcoins have a big impact, period.

I agree. The media isn't concerned with the technical information. They want the practical application. If Bitcoin is going to catch on as a worldwide currency or payment option (however you want to view it), it needs to connect with the casual consumer. And the casual consumer wants pizza and coffee, not ASICs and mining securities. Wink

Am I on crazy pills or did the people that create http://pizzaforcoins.com have some good PR people. I saw at least two articles that linked to them and one even tried to contact them. I would have never guess pizza has this type of power. Time to change my plan of building a [ insert satoshi dice / casino / gambling site here] clone, and go for the pizza.

You are just as surprised as we were gweedo!!! We posted the site on this forum on a sunday night and monday morning the site exploded. We did not have ANY PR people. I guess we just had luck.

I think physical, non-mining related goods for bitcoins have a big impact, period. I have no PR people and BitBrew has been linked to in several articles:

http://arstechnica.com/business/2013/01/bitcoin-based-casino-rakes-in-over-500000-profit-in-six-months/

I was even interviewed and had a bag of my coffee appear on the cover of the October 29th, 2012 issue of Tax Notes International®. (Unfortunately, this is not a free publication.)

The day after Dominoes announces they'll take BTC, I will sell all my holdings.
