If you go with 7950's, 1200 watts will do it

Already got 2 7970's - but could do 2 x 7970 and 2 x 7950 (in fact was thinking of that but wanted to keep OP simple).

What sort of wattage would we be taking in that scenario?

Obviously it's not entirely accurate, that's an estimate if everything is at 100% load, but it's best to be safe.

So 1600W should be ample. The above-mentioned LEPA one should do the trick. Or two linked 800W's. Rosewill (Newegg) has some decent low-cost ones.

Thanks for the advice guys  Smiley

Probably have to do with two PSUs using this adapter.

Are there any downsides/glitches associated with running two PSU's into the single system?  Or do you just get a nice smooth 750w+750w=1500w type result?

Cuddling, censored, unicorn-shaped troll.
Pretty affirmative that this one would have your setup running with fingers in the nose.

4 x 7970 + an 8 core cpu.    What sort of wattage would it need, and can you recommend a good brand/model?

TIA

Or you could get a EVGA NEX1500 which should be plentiful for your system.

I'll do some quick research, i'll let you know what i come up with
You're gonna need a pretty darn good PSU, with somewhere around 1600+ watts, and by good I mean one with a high efficency
so something like this guy http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159158
